this is me benchin 365 a while ago…cant remember how long ago…4 months? But I’m gonna b shooting for a 395 soon…probably within 6 weeks.
Age 19, BW 202.
If I cut out the muay thai I can probably get it faster…but I’m not solely focusing on benching 405…I’m still training my squat very hard so of course all this extra work takes away some.
Anyways I wanna do it before HolyMac hahaha jk man.
Keep it up. That is way better than most here.

6 weeks eh? alright man. balls to the wall. lol

True that. Good work, bra

thanks Prof.
Yeh HolyMac - 6 weeks! 3-9-5 lol.
After that I don’t know…I’ll figure somethin out to get to that 405. Perhaps then I will not squat…and just deadlift and bench. If I cut out squats it will b easier. So I’ll do a deadlift + bench only program.
Anyways I’ll be in this thread for a while until I get it, and see how everyone else is doin.
Train hard everyone.
And don’t lie to yourself lol.

Wow that’s impressive rasturai, great work.

I think it’s wicked that we have guys here on pace, or close to, getting close to such a tough goal.

Just for my own curiosity, at what age were you able to bench 405 for the first time PX?

BUMP I guess X was right.

Not sure about the age but a senior in college is around 22yrs old normally

That kid is fucking strong, jesus.

I’m 21 and I benched 405 a few months ago. Holla.

Anyone else think holymac is trolling for either:

 1. Some help with his PF Lunk Alarm project

or

 1. MMF candidates

What about this guy, drug free 528 paused at 21.

Im down for this. Im currently benching about 175kg raw at 20 years old and 275 (i turned 20 Feb 8th), and at CPF Raw Nationals on June 12th, with the goal of hitting atleast 183kg (the existing National Junior Raw record here is 182.5 or about 402). actually, come to think of it… wouldnt the existing lift there be close enough to prove the case?

So far I haven’t seen a single T-Nation member under 23, bb bench 405…too bad I’m 24 now. Other wise I would try.

I’m currently following the recomendations of John Bastow: replacing the bb bench, for balance board pushups with a double-looped monster miniband wrapped around my ears

If this thread is here in 2011, then Ill be postin that at least 355-365 bench, at 19.

Currently at 275 for about 2, here the vid of me hitting one and a half:

Count me in too. I turn 22 in June. Current Bench 365 x 2 using wendlers 5/3/1. I really hope i don’t have trouble hitting 405 before 23. It took me 1.5 years to get 225. And then it took me another 1.5 to hit 315. So I should be on track to hit 405!

well here it is:

All of these numbers don’t mean much. I want to see someone under the age of 23 bench press 405lbs even if it with a spotter. I swear I see NO ONE in the gym who can do this anymore even though we did it by the age of 22. I feel like evolution took a step back over the last 5-10 years.
I personally have 7 more months before i hit the ripe age of 23. Hoping there are guys here who can either stand up now and prove X wrong, or join me on the way.

and honestly, if you’re 17 years old, and plan on hitting 405 in the next 4 years, that’s great an all, but lets try to keep this for guys trying to hit it in the next 6 months or less.

i haven’t tried a ME day in awhile, looks like i’ll have one coming up soon. shooting for 365
Well I have essentially 5 years to improve my bench by 85 pounds, that seems doable on the surfice, but I think my upper body frame is already pushing 80% of the limit for my height.

We’ll see but on the surface I’d like to think I could easily hit it.

Oh dear God, what…?

For as much as it’s worth without video proof, I hit 435 at 21 years old. I turn 23 in july.

I’ll see if I can dig out video (and of course consent) from my training partner. Hit 418 raw and is still 22. He is, however, a world level junior bencher in a shirt, so what the Prof was saying is close to the mark.
