You realize that I said I don’t think I’m built for them and don’t like them, right?
For me, they are worthless for leg work because they will do more harm than good.

he certainly sounds like he has the intellectual maturity of a 15 year old, or less. Early on in the thread, I had assumed he was a teenager, until he revealed his actual age. I do believe he’s actually 20-something though, just based on a handful of things he’s said. he used the phrase ‘u mirin?’ earlier, which is attributable to Zyzz followers, and zyzz has been dead long enough that I doubt 15 year olds are still embracing that particular phrase.
Sure I also want to be neutral. But when someone shows anti-vegan studies, I show this a vegan discord server, and then they say that this study has low quality and that it is not mention worthy because how the studie was done. And when I tell this the anti-vegan, he doesn’t believe it.
Pro, Contra, manually done by me is too complicated. I can’t do this.
More fun, gents - he’s actually 26 and unemployed; that was actually the basis for a lot of my initial reaction to this: you don’t get to be a grown non-contributor to society and ask this many questions about a hobby you researched on the Interwebz.
well, since you said yourself you don’t understand science or science literature, you don’t know if he’s right or not. Remember, you said you don’t want to ‘waste your time’ with all that? The downside of that is, you don’t know what information you read is good, and what is not. You have NO WAY of determining whether you’ve read a quality study or not. Maybe the discord guy is right, maybe he’s not. But you have no way to know it. You’re relying on faith that you’ve made good decisions, not facts.
so @napelazam . you’re unemployed. you can’t gain muscle. you don’t understand science. What is that you actually DO? you play on computers? and someone liked a rendering you did one time? THAT is your basis for thinking you’re better than other people?
Do you really think any neutral party would look at the facts about you and say ‘man. this guy seems really great! definitely a higher species, for sure!’
Can you tell me again why my progress is so slow? …I still am clueless.
Because bad form and no kcal surplus at all times and because I don’t give everything?
No, I mean a person who doesn’t eat animal products is a better person. I don’t think anybody would disagree with this.
But my hobbys and interests could make me less boring then majority of humans.
I don’t think majority of humans would admit anything of they know they could easily do the same. like not supporting animal harm.

Better is too broad a term.
Better for what? A nice soup or stew? An open pit roast?
Stay tender broski. You know damn well what’s gonna happen if we run out of cows and chickens.
oh, you’re a game designer? that’s really awesome! One of my closest friends works for Certain Affinity, based in Austin Tx. If you’re into game design, and particularly level design, you’re probably familiar with the company. He was also a major contributed to the Fallout games when he worked for Bethesda, prior to Certain Affinity.
What games have you worked on?
I also see you’re into movie making, CGI and Screenplay. Very awesome stuff. What movies have you had the opportunity to work on?
Funny coincidence, I happen to be a bit of a science/tech nerd myself. You could call that a hobby for me as well. I’ve got a copy of this month’s ‘Science News’ on my desk at work right now. And guess what the cover story is about? That’s right, VIDEO GAMES! specifically, AI.
Speaking of science, biology and medicine are very much science based, so I’m kind of surprised by those, but what specific medical research have you been reading about lately? I read a good article about regulatory DNA and it’s relation to the inability of Emu’s to fly the other day, I bet you’d love it!
Or perhaps I’ve gotten it all wrong… see, if I have something in my life that I call a ‘hobby’, I invest time and effort into it. I learn it from the ground up. I DO THINGS with it. I don’t call ‘reading articles on the internet that I happen to come across on a given subject’ a hobby. A hobby is something you actually engage in. So if you haven’t actually engaged in this ‘list of things’ above, on which you actually listed game development 3 times, I’m afraid you may not have as many hobbies as you might have thought you did.
Now I’m curious, why do you think you aren’t built for them? I probably ignored it as a lame excuse. And why would they do more harm than good? It’s such a basic bodyweight movement, I can’t imagine someone having problems with them beyond strength, coordination, and balance.
Slightly worrisome quote coming from a German…
EDIT: damn, kept scrolling, lots of people beat me to the joke. And here I was thinking I was clever…
I’m tall, have long femurs, and I’ve had surgery on my left hip and knee. I have less mobility in my left ankle from a fracture, too.
There are too many other options for me to suffer through pistols.
I’m reminded of that Constanza quote from Seinfeld: “ha, the joke is on you because I’m unemployed!”
People here say that bones get stronger after they break from weightlifting and after you visited the surgeon.
Why isn’t this the case for your bones?
Before I ever started lifting, I had double shoulder surgery. I am now overhead pressing 135 lbs.
My shoulders are stronger than they were when they weren’t injured. Sorry, you’re still wrong.
I said interests/hobbies.
Interest may be just theory. Just reading. Nothing you do yourself. ![]()
The only broken bone was the ankle - the talus to be specific. The others were soft tissue. My cartilage is beat up. That doesn’t grow back.
My training is just fine. There are some exercises that have no place in my program. I can achieve my goals and hopefully I won’t need any joint replacements on the future.
So why doesnt that bone repair itself? Are you now scared of heavy lifting?
It appears you are bad at all of your hobbies and interests.
I was responding to clarify my injuries. I’m not going to defend, justify, or even try to explain my training to you.
