What are you guys using for a block to get a good stretch on bottom part of your calf raises? I am using a 2x6 in my home gym but there must be something better.
Not sure this will help you, but using jumpsoles is pretty good. Get good stretch, but your heel hits the floor sometimes.
I went hog wild when I purchased my gym and included the Body-Solid PowerLift Squat Block. It works great for standing calf raises with either dumbbells or the Smith attachment on my Body-Solid Monster Rack . It’s heavy and doesn’t slide around or tip over. The price is still $79 +shipping at fitnessfactory.com and worth it in my opinion. My old calf block was 3 pieces of 2x4 that I nailed together.
Thats what I’m talkin about. That thing is crazy and I just might purchase one of those things.
I use a 4 x 8 concrete block…its heavy and solid enough not to tip, even under pretty heavy loads…
