Whatever you do don’t buy a Mazda 3. Those cars blow…
Oh and screw Consumer Reports, they don’t know what they’re talking about.

4 door or 2 door? I am still considering getting another Jeep or a Truck in the next year or so.
Does anyone else think 90% of the new cars available today suck?

Serious about the Leaf though. They really are great little cars. I can’t say fun to drive, I’d say interesting and quite pleasant.
My friend got a ridiculous lease deal of 200 a month and nothing down on his. I pay 140 a month in gas for my truck. Makes the Leaf sound pretty compelling.
Eww. This is TNation, man. Get that shit outta here
Oh it gets better. I’d like to get a Leaf and if I do wifey is going to get my truck.

What’s your major gripe against the 3? I got one last summer and so far the experience is more in line with this:

Since you’re considering a 4-cyl sedan, I would check out the Mazda 6. Great MPG and it seems to be winning a lot of comparisons to other sedans. They definitely have some of the best looks for current sedans.
Good choice. I have a Mazda 3 which is a little more compact than a 6, but it is a great car. I’ve had it for four years and haven’t ever had a single problem with it. Handles well and gets good gas mileage. My car doesn’t have the skyactive technology so it doesn’t get as good as MPG as ones that have been out the past 3 years.
I have an SE, so slightly upgraded, and agree. Great car. No complaints. It’s very alike to my previous car, which was an A4, though obviously the Jetta lacks the power. I’m manual, which helps with that a bit.

I had a 2009 (my wife totaled it), it’s an okay car. This is why I disliked it:
1.) I did not like the steering at all. It’s very loose.
2.) It handled terrible in any inclement weather. It was the worst inclement weather driver I’ve ever owned. (That includes a Ford Escort, Honda Civic, Dodge Ram 1500, & a Camaro RS)
3.) Head lights went out all the time. In 5 years I’d replaced each headlight 4-5 times.
4.) The insulation on the drivers side window got screwed up at about 50K miles. Cost like $500 to fix.
5.) Personal gripe (you might not care, I don’t enjoy car maintenance), it was a pain in the ass to change the oil because of a plastic protective guard covering the filter. There was a hole in the plastic to reach the filter, but it did not line up with the filter and it was designed for a little girls hand. So you had to take the guard off every time, which was annoying.
*Maybe I just had a bad experience with one, but I’ve never buy a Mazda again. I disliked that 3 that much.

Nice, I just wish Jeep would come out with something that was a little better on gas. My old lifted TJ got about 12mpg on a good day.

I have a hard time with the seats on the new Jettas; they just don’t fit my frame very well. For some reason a golf/gti seat fits me better and so does my Audi.

Ha, ya… I think the new ones are like 18/20mgp. I live 3 miles from work so I can justify it as a daily driver.

Yeah that’s going to be the deciding factor on if I buy another one.

Hey guys sorry for the delay.
Basically I’m just looking for a car with great gas mileage(city and highway) and does not come with too many unnecessary features other than Sirius XM. Definitely will add the VW Golf and Chevy Cruze to my list of options. I don’t need the vehicle right away but will want to be making the purchase within 2-3 months time.
As someone with whos last 2 cars were both Chevy, i would not recommend it.
I actually did the opposite of you, had 2 cars, both Chevy, before this and now im driving an F150. Its a 2012 though so the mileage isnt terrible, it stung a bit when i had a longer commute but now my commute is next to nothing so i dont sweat it.
Would go Honda or Mazda if looking for a 4 cyl, as others have mentioned.
Dont know how you could stand going from driving a full size pickup to a mid size sedan though…
If all you care about is getting from point A to point B in a cost effective manner just do yourself a favor and buy a Honda Civic or an Accord.

I guess, I’ve never owned either. I’ve just never meet a single person that wasn’t satisfied with a civic.
Not a lot of love for the Camry in here. I have a 2012 Camry SE, well its wife’s but I bought it, that I absolutely love. Definitely a car to look into. Also have a couple of friends that really like their Corolla sports.

I’ve been driving around an '06 or an '07, they’re not bad at all.
If you’re considering an Accord, check out the new Hyundai Sonatas. They’re pretty nice and the Mazda 6 is definitely one of the nicest sedans on the road at the moment too. Personally I’d rather have either of those over the Accord.
