Hey bunny shit happens - take downtime, pull your head together and come back stronger.
I felt like shit for you. There’s only so much you can say when it sucks. Like I said yesterday, just about everyone that’s been around for a while has eaten from this particular bag of shit. I got a double helping last summer.
Take the Keats quote to heart. We don’t learn nearly as much from success as we do from failure. I used mine to stop trying to plow through a wall, back up and find the door. So far it’s been working but at some point, i have no doubt I’ll be back there again.
I think your shoulder was in worse shape than you realised.
Don’t forget though, that your squats were great.
That sucks buddy.
Not sure if it’s doable, but the Niagara meet in August (21st???) is fantastic, and closer, and better accommodations.

Truer words have not been spoken. Use it as a learning experience and come back stronger next time man!
Its not quite Keats’ level but still worth watching:
Thanks OB… maybe a little perspective is what I need…

Yeah, you two could share a room, pizza buns and what not.
Overused but apt, “whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”. Learn from the experience. Come back better and stronger.
Don’t beat yourself up too much. If you don’t bomb once in a while, you aren’t trying hard enough.
“Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorius triumphs, even though checkered by failure… than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.”
Theodore Roosevelt
Hey you shit the bed big guy. I have bombed far more than I care to think about, but my first was at Provincials. I fell backwards three times on my squats and wanted to hang myself. My coach says well at least you will be fresh for Nationals. It’s over and done, you got drunk and sad, so get under the damned bar and start planning. I know what you can do, and I would be proud to coach you anytime.
Frank
PS If you want a hog let me know. I know a guy who is in a Harley bike club who would love to help anyone out to buy a bike. His friends are always wanting to sell and buy new, and baby their rides. It might be worth it to talk to him.

Shit happens. You got up there and lifted, better than 99.9% of the people that hog weight rooms and boast about how strong they are. Hell, you made it to bench, for me that is a good meet.
From one of the .1%… I agree with Pete, Harry and all the rest. You were there… You competed. You did. you didnt bullshit.
Thanks to everyone who picked me up after the stumble. Took some time off, went and seen the doc about the shoulder, gave me some drugs, gonna see how it responds and go from there.
Have not decided about the meet in August… being so busy with work and the G 20 summit might just wait until the fall to compete again… give the wing a bit more time to heal and get some more training under my belt.
In the meantime, started back to the gym training again, felt good. Switched the training up as well, still a few kinks to work out regarding progression and periodization, but will post the changes once they have been cemented.
Gonna startt off lighter for a few weeks… maybe ![]()

Bunny, sorry to read about the meet. A huge positive to take away is that you made squat depth. The most difficult part of a meet. I hope the shoulder feels better.
Nice return to training bunny. I’m glad you are starting “light”… WOW! Nice volume!!

No kidding. I wish I could lift “light” like that!
Buns… everyone should bomb sometimes. it keeps us honest.
anyway, if i can help you with the rehab or training, i’m at your disposal.
What did you end up squating?
Anybody spotted any tracks? Haven’t seen bunny around these parts for too long.
Get the beagles and check every hole. No sign since the G20 BS.
