Yeah… felt heavy… but I heard somewhere that if you ain’t scared, it ain’t heavy enough.

WAVE 5 WEEK 3

MILITARY PRESS
bar x some

then 100-80-60 3 drop sets each to failure

Off to a family Easter gathering for dinner. None of my boys could make it home for Easter, so it felt kinda hollow. My sister and my nieces couldn’t make it either.

I have been in a real pissy mood as of late… don’t know why. Just feel like tellin’ the world to f* off.

Watched “Sons of Anarchy” series 1 and series 2… like 24 episodes in 4 days, and have decided I wanna bike. Preferably a Harley. Gonna go and get my M1 license. The thought of just getting on a bike and taking off is appealing.

Nice training. SOA is a pretty good show. But watch your ass on a bike. Bikes are fun until a soccer mom in a suburban full of screaming kids ruins your day by changing lanes unexpectedly while talking on the phone and applying lipstick.

nice work bunny. SOA is so addictive.

somebody’s starting their midlife crisis…

i have been jonesing for a bike for since I turned 45, even though they scare the shit out of me.

Training is looking strong. I think you need a bike. I can see you with your leather on kicking back riding the back roads. I used to have a rice rocket but always wanted a harley.

My in laws are bikers so of course my wife would have a fit if I ever got a bike. Thats some serious milies.

Nice work on the millis. Seems like we are the crowd that doesn’t buy into the ‘over head presses wreck your shoulders’ nonsense. Keep it up.

Looking strong as ever. Sweet mils.

Thanks guys… and Ruglayer, believe it or not, I have had a histroy of shoulder problems and they do bug me… but not enough to quit…

My 'pewter at home is pooched…

I am looking at a place in “Dumfries” that sells Harleys… place called “Classic Iron”… just gotta get some cash together and get my licence and shit in order. In the mean time…

Yippee! Finally got the computer fixed and back…

Thanks… starting to get back up there, but wanna eclipse those numbers.

My bench still sucks, which you will see from the following…

APRIL 9

WAVE 5 WEEK 3

BENCHPRESS
bar
135x5
135x10
225x3
($$)
255x5
290x3
325x2 (second rep stalled at chest… needed 2 finger spot… feh!)
*this felt much heavier than it should have… dammit)

RE BENCH
135 x 100 reps… rest pause

WIDE GRIP/ CLOSE GRIP/ UNDERHAND PULLDOWNS SUPER SETTED WITH CABLE FACEPULLS
buncha sets (5 or 6 I think)… different weights

Don’t know why everything felt heavy tonight, and couldn’t get my mind in gear.

Brought the grey bands in the gym with me, was gonna use those for DE/ RE bench… went and got the 100 pound dumbells to hold the bands, they were too light, dumbells never even touched the floor… went and got the 110 pounders… set it up again… again too light… went and got the 130 pound dumbells, set it up again… held the bands down just barely… got on the bench, unracked the bar not even thinking of how much it weighed (135 + the bands =???)
I was a little embarassed, couple of young fellers lookin’ at me like I had lost my mind. Running back and forth to the dumbell rack like a damn squirrel looking for a nut. I felt like that critter “Scrat” from the animated movie “Ice Age”

So… 135 + 260-280 at the top = 400+ pounds??. I unrack the bar, and thinking “holy #$@!.. this is damn heavy!!” bring the bar down, start back up the dumbells twisted and started rolling on the floor towards the back of the bench. Probably a good thing too… cuz I think I would have had trouble racking the bar.

Anyhow… all that running around for 1 damn rep… so I am considering that cardio. Took the bands off and did 135 pounds for 100 reps… varying the bar speed, rest pause… had a good pump and sweat when done.

APRIL 11

WAVE 5 WEEK 3

SQUAT
bar x warmup
135x2x10
225x5
315x1
($$)
375x5
425x3
475x1
-then threw grey bands up- reversed
495x1
565x1

Then went home and did some yard work. Congrats to all the those that competed this weekend in Quebec at the CPU Nationals… Sensgurl from T-Nation here apparently kicked some serious ass and set a few records while at it… way to go girl!

so have you ordered a shirt and squat suit yet?

BTW with the bands and benching. Sandwhich the dumbells in between some 25 lb plates. That will keep them on the floor and from rolling.

Everything looking good. The scrat image was just to much.

Hey Pete/ Hel
Thanks for the encouragement and for stopping by.

No, I haven’t ordered a shirt or suit yet… was gonna wait until after my next meet so that I am not tempted to use them.

What is the difference between the briefs and the suit? Is one better than the other, or are they the same? Can you wear the briefs and the suit together?

Briefs are the bottom half of a suit. You will be in CPU I believe, one layer only, no briefs, suit only. IPF rules. So anything that states IPF approved you will be good with.

At least you know why you were doing it. Most people run around a gym like that with a ‘blank, useless look’ about them. At least that’s what I was seein’ yesterday.

yeah, there is a lot of that going around…

Looked at the rules Pete for the CPU and you are correct. So much for that idea.

Was supposed to have a deload week, but was so damn busy just decided to take 4 days off of lifting, do a little GPP and call the deload done and get back to lifting. If I am going to enter the meet first week of June I got a lot of work to do… so…

495x8

The reps of 765 and 855 were basically just picking the weight up… not much of a shrug… more like a twitch

My deloads often turn into days off as well. MP is looking strong. Did you bend the bar with those almost half ton shruggs?? 855?? crazy weight.
