10 lbs within goal and PRs, what more can you ask. Nice fucking work. I will be telling all my cop friends that I VIRTUALLY know, as DCA said, ‘the Strongest Policeman in the World’.

Thanks Pete… I am happy with my performance over all.
As for being the strongest policeman in the world… I think that is pretty crazy. There are a lot of coppers out there a helluva lot stronger than me. As for coppers between 39 ands 45 years of age, the percentage goes down a bit, but I am definitely not that presumptious.
The record for my category was set in Australia in 2007 by a copper from Minnesota I believe… 515 raw bench and a 715 raw deadlift. We just have to get them out to compete and support each other… It really was a great time.
My goal for 2011 is get as close to this record as I can. Deadlift should not be a problem… bench is another story. But… gotta aim high, right?
Nice work bunny!
As for your post-comp. question, who are you kidding, you’ll be in the gym within 2 days to see about that 650 and that’s assuming your drunk and tired from now till then! ![]()
Seriously, why not take say two weeks, hit the gym when you want but don’t go nuts with going heavy. I’m not sure how the lats feeling but this would be a good time to let it rest some. Focus on non-core lifts, try shit out that maybe you’ve heard about/wanted to try.
Basically fuck around and figure out what your next training cycle is going to be.
Any plans for your next comp? Full power maybe?
World Champion. Doesn’t get any better than that. Outstanding performance.
Nice work! PRs all over the place. Way to go dropping 8 lbs in no time. I didn’t realize it could be done so quickly.

Back when I was playing ball in SC, I lost 8# one practice. The most I remember seeing someone lose was 14#, during one practice.
I never would have guessed, though, that you could drop 8# that quickly, and close to the meet, and still have enough umph to hit PRs.

2 weeks! Are you nuts! I am already losing my mind… well, what mind I had left anyways lol!
I have no idea where I am going/ doing next. I want to do a full power meet, but I gotta figure out when, where etc. I will be doing it raw as well, so should be fun.
One of the judges at my competition was a lady named Kim Dennis… she asked me a couple of questions about where I was going next etc… she told me she is the ??Secretary?? for the C.P.U.
If I am going to take this to the next level I definitely have to find a poewrlifting gym and like minded experienced people close to me to train with.
Thanks Hel and Eco!
Yeah, I was really surprised with the weight loss that quick. I was gearing up for an all day type of ordeal. One of the super heavy weight competitors told me it is also relative to the size of the individual losing weight… big (see “fat”) guys/ gals lose pretty quick as opposed to smaller individuals.
.
wow you made that look easy!
Was that a bit of light-headedness afterwards? Agreed, that looked easy for you.
Nice pull! And you are so dang tall. That is a long way to go for that bar.
Thanks guys. Yeah, a little light headed afterwards. I don’t know why the bench video did not load, I will try again when I get home from work.
Great story and awesome meet results Champ!

There’s a competition in a couple weeks in London (you know that area don’t you? haha).
Seriously, keep an eye on this website.
http://www.ontariopowerlifting.org/
Other than the “Last Chance Open” in Ottawa in late November there isn’t anything till next year, but more will pop up as we get closer to 2010.
And I didn’t mean take two weeks off. I meant just fuck around for two weeks doing whatever you want in the gym while you decide on a program, but go in as often as you like.

Thanks for the info RL!
Well… I will either compete in November at the “last chance”, or just keep training and working on my technique and enter an event in the new year.
My son was just posted to Ottawa though… hmmmm… I have to think this one over.
I am going to hit the gym tomorrow… have no idea what I am going to do… but I am going none the less.
Here is the bench video from the competition… 2nd attempt at 355 lbs, missed my 3rd at 370 ![]()
This was my deadlift opener I think… 585
This was my bench opener… 345 I think
