Bulldog: Working on regaining man card

Bench: Over warmed up to 345 x 1… Was a little concern because my groove was off and this felt strangely heavy

3 x 5 @ 325… THANK GOD…things started clicking weight didn’t feel real heavy
3 x 5 @ 285
230 x 20

Incline Bench:( swiss bar) 30/3@ 215 Total reps (27)… was petered out
Lying Tri extensions: 25/3 @ 105 TR 28… really would like to slowly build these back up to use heavier weight
Face pulls: 5 x 10 @ SW

HOT AS HELL AGAIN… at least I manned up and got some work in…

Deadlift: 8 X 1 @ 85%

One arm DB rows: 30/3@ 158 TR 22… ugh felt drained
Farmer walks: 2 x 50 feet with jack and shit
GHR: 3 x 10 (assisted)… :rage:cant believe how weak I have become on these.
Standing Band crunches: 5 x 10

90 plus degrees…high humidity ITS PARADISE:thumbsdown:

ehh…alright nothing to write home about.

Speed Bench: (Buffalo Bar)8 x 3 @ 240 , 260 x 2 …all sets had good speed
Standing OHP: 3 x 5 @ 170… last set I blew up a easy 12 with reps still in the tank. might up the weight more than 5 lbs next week
Neutral grip Pull ups:: some reps and sets
EZ Bar curls: 25/3@SW TR 23
Alternate DB curls: 20/2 @ SW TR 20

Squat: 5 x 8 @ 305 .… did 12 on last set had at least 15 in the tank. FOUND OUT SOMETHING!!
Step Ups: 3 x 10 @ SW

Barbell roll outs: 2 x 10…ehhhh been awhile for these and I could feel em

Well on a whim I dusted off a parallel box I had to examine my current depth. WOW.… didnt realize that I have been going so deep a good 3 inches at the least below parallel ! I find it ironic since I have been on my oldest for the same issue. Well im going out on a limb and speculating the on and off hip issues might be due to the excessive ROM. Well took steps to make sure that I didnt go excessively below parallel on my working sets.Guess what, NO signal from the right hip and the Squats felt explosive as hell with tons of speed out of the hole.

By inadvertently using a larger ROM on your squats have you perhaps made your parallel squat stronger?

Do you squat sometimes deeper in your off season than as a comp is approaching go back to squatting parallel?

for the record Im considering parallel what is pictured on the right…

I would say not really at the moment, but I think it has to do with my age and millage .I got a feeling the extra ROM might be putting extra torque on things in the hip area.[quote=“Irishman92, post:1858, topic:200807”]

Pretty much… During a Meet situation I have to have someone call out my depth, other wise I tend to sink them extra deep. I will say its a by product of when I was much younger doing the Bodybuilding and going deep and it is subconsciously ingrained .

Oh I have the shoulder more than figured out… It just a matter of me following my own common sense .

Bench: worked up to a light 320 x 1 as a over warm up
5 x 8 @ 285… all sets were fairly easy few of the sets I was pausing reps

Incline Bench:( swiss bar) 30/3 @ 215 TR 31
Lying tri extensions: 25/3 @ 110 TR 29
Face pulls: 5 x 10 @ SW

Note to self DO SOME FORM OF WARMING UP BEFORE PULLING!!! (besides just pulling,new old man rule)
Deadlifts: 5 x 1 @ 90%…Blahh was overthinking these tonight.
Pendlay rows: 20/3 @ SW TR 24
Farmer Walks: 2 x 50 feet @ ridiculously low weight…will say it exposing some weakness that have developed .
GHR: 3 x 10…better than last week
Standing Band crunches: 5 x 10
