Pendlay rows: 20/3 @ SW Total reps 24
Farmer walks: 2 x 50 feet @ SW
GHR: 3 x 10 (assisted)… screw the Kettle bell swings
Standing Band crunches: 5 x 10

I feel your pain. I lowered my training max too low when I came back to Wendler, and it’s embarrassing to look at the bar on upper body days. But the progress has been undeniable. PR deadlift, 10 pounds from my lifetime PR squat, and my pressing is coming along as well. Stay the course brother, it will pay off.

I use bitch weights all the time now. you can make really light weight feel really painful. When I was going heavy all the time, I would leave the gym feeling beat up and achy. I still go heavy occasionally but mostly now I go fairly light but really concentrate on the tempo (slow), full ROM and I do a lot of circuit work with short rest intervals…Kicks my ass. The bonus is that I leave the gym feeling great, I’m actually getting bigger, leaner and when I do feel like going heavy on a lift, I’m all healed up and ready to do so. The really only difference I’ve noticed in my training that has changed since I’ve gotten older is that I can’t just beat the shit out of myself ALL the time. I need to be smart(er) now. I can still do everything that I did before but I just can’t do it ALL of the time.

I know exactly where you’re coming from… As I have gotten older my approach has really changed and I have had to take more feedback from what my old carcass has been telling me. Anymore on my main movements I’m training with sub-max weight 99 % of the time. Hell I honestly don’t even sniff the ass end of venturing near working with any load over 90% of my actual max. Especially since I’ve adopted the notion of a Every Day Max where im basing my training % off of most of the time. If I was to do some actual Max effort shit for any length of time Im guessing Id rip some shit up. Mostly on days I feel good I will crank out reps on my working sets over what I have pre planned ahead of times . I also avoid missing reps and going to failure on any given sets.

Dynamic Bench: (Buffalo Bar): 8 x 3 @ 235 1 minute between sets. Really nice pop off the chest and good bar speed.

Standing OHP: 3 x 5 @ 165… did 12 easy reps on the last set. Since im using a regular bar again on these I might want to up the weight some more
Neutral Grip pull ups: some reps and sets
EZ Bar Curls: 25/3@SW Total reps 24
Alternate DB curls: 20/2 @ SW TR 19

Ok session…no complaints

Squats: (Buffalo bar) did a over warm up to 420 fairly easy… But didnt care for the bar speed and hips felt gummy
390 x 5… OH BALLZ Hot as hell at work and Hot as Hell in the garage. Caught up with me and zapped what energy I had. Had planned on more reps but a higher power said go to Hell.
