actually…the Bench felt it. Took me longer between sets and the last set was pretty brutal

Squat: over warm up set 75% X 1 of a EDM
5X5@ 60% done under 10 minutes going ahead and trying out some Compensatory Acceleration Training (CAT)
Lunges: 3 x 10
Standing Band crunches 5 x 10
Band Abduction 3 x20

Had Dakota do his last truly heavy Deadlift session for his Meet … Top set with 465 x 3 according to him it only felt moderately heavy and that he could have pulled it for a 4th rep no problem.
Speaking of Deads… the current approach isnt working like I expected. Ugh matter of fact they are falling off of the cliff suddenly .
Trying not too have a knee jerk reaction at the moment. Got a feeling my Deads arent going to respond low volume high intensity anymore.
Things are tracking Damn good so far on his training numbers for his next Meet better than i expected at this point. He will easily set new PR,s on all his 2nd attempts alone.

As Paul Carter would call it This was a -10% session considering I didnt have any issues completing 5 x 8 even coming off the Flu… . just couldn’t turn the mental switch felt slow and sluggish today. Other than the right shoulder feeling stiff most of the issue was mental IMO.

Ill be honest I get pretty stressed at Meets because of the combo more than he does doing a meet.
As a Father i want too see him do well simply because hes my son.
As a coach if he does bad its a direct reflection on my ability to coach and program…

OH HELL YES!!! Just found out today Dakota got confirmation he got the resident assistant position he applied for at school a few weeks ago. Next fall he will have his own dorm room…most most importantly his room and board will be free!!! After doing the math factoring in the position along with the scholarships he has school will only cost $1300.00 next year… ![]()
