Swung a sledge a few times. Usually a splitting maul. That can be exhausting. Feel it in the back immediately and the shoulders the day after.
More power to you, bro!
Great way to vent some frustration, too…
ironically my great grand father worked for the rail road and was the guy who would swing the hammer when the put in track. Not that its that interesting.
There is a job in which no one should question your manliness.

From the stories Ive been told he was one big and strong SOB.

Seated BTNP: bar
100
125
150
165 x 5
190 x 5
215 x 5
Conditioning circuit:
BW squat: 5,10,15,20,25,20,15,10,5
Chins: 1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2,1
Push ups: 5,10,15,20,25,20,15,10,5
Bent rows: 3,6,9,12,15,12,9,6,3

Tread mill: 30 minute walk

I do believe that qualifies as conditioning. And you appear to have skipped a few levels and gone straight to “Advanced”.
Some of us might call it “Terminal”.

i dont know if id say advanced…but i might agree with terminal. Mid way through the circuit I through I was going to flat line.

All this sledgehammer talk about railroads reminds me of a favorite Johnny Cash song.

Let me guess Folsom prison blues?

Training has taken a back seat at the moment to all the remodeling and landscaping going on at my house.

Thankfully my wife doesn’t check this site. This post would have created plenty of problems for me is she did!

GPP…it’s all good!

And seeing you two next to each other, in the pic, he is definitely still the “pup”.

The Johnny Cash song I was thinking of is the one were the guy is battling the machine to do the sledgehammer work and he finally dies or gets beaten. It’s kind of a song about modern machinery taking the place of good-ole human work. I forgot the title but I don’t think it’s Folsom prison blues. I’ll have to listen to my Cash albums and get back to you. Nice fence, are you going to stain or paint it?

Told you he still a pup…

On a side note I still find it amusing when awhile back ago how on this site these 175lbs guys were pounding on their chest and running down “perma bulk guys”

The reason I find it funny is Because pup is a pretty damn solid 175lbs and i think the pic speaks for itself.

*** Note waiting for the hate to flow from certain people.

Note a huge Cash fan BUt one of his songs is on my top 10 list…

You got to be kidding me…left hip is feeling good. Right one now is fired up!! Never had issue with the right one ever before. Only thing I can say is maybe Ive been favoring it as of late and that has caused some irritation.

That Cash song hit me right in the gut and it’s one of my favorites. It’s real and true. I hope our bodies forgive us for some of the thrashing we’ve given them.

Solid plan my friend! I’m guessing your correct on the new hip issue, probably overcompensating for the pain on the other side during certain movements. Hope both of them start to mend soon for you.

I think GV is thinking of this song…

and dammit whats wrong with the 175 non shit talking lil dudes. lol

part of mounting big shows is using a big ass generator ( or many )
to power up your rig someone has to ground those genny’s
sometimes it was me and I have spent many a morning pounding in 6’ rods into the ground.

will follow to see how this conditioning block pays out.
nice work

Well the left is feeling fine…I think the right one I just need to start working it again and not baby it ,since getting blood moving in the area seems to help.

Well i wasnt talking about the non shit talkers…LOL
I just found it funny how guys who are taller then my son carrying the same amount of lean muscle want to talk shit .

The conditioning block at the moment has been hit and miss with everything that Ive been doing at home and work. Things are starting to calm down and I can really start devoting effort into it.
