You’re out of the woods enough now to read to the following.
My oldest, best friend’s wife died this week at 75. They lived in southern California and were together since 1971. No funeral/no newspaper announcement/he’s shut himself off from the world. I found out yesterday. He steadfastly recommended how to handle my late wife’s death and grieving, not to mention having been best man in both of my weddings and an all around great guy. Apparently he’s alienated his siblings, so his wife’s sister is planning a memorial service in Minneapolis in June for her family and friends. This is crazy.
