Bulldog: Working on regaining man card

I’ve got one for you. I remember when bullpup was an actual pup and you started him out in the gym. What kind of program did you start him with? As I’m sure you know my 13 year old has been kind of lifting for awhile now and has “mastered” the compound movements to the point where I fell confident letting him push himself and lift heavier. I was thinking about the OG starting strength or 5/3/1 to prepare him for high school football. Thoughts?

Id say 5/3/1 … looking into the 5 progression wendler has.

I started him off learning using a 5/3/1 light program so he’s familiar with the structure but like I said never let him really push it. This summer he’s going hard. Right now he’s in wrestling so I’ll hold off on the real heavy stuff. Thanks.
