Bulldog: Working on regaining man card

In retrospect looking over my log book I have been doing a piss poor job of fatigue management.

Well at least you can see it. The question is what are you going to do about it.

Yeah that’s the question . The stumbling block will be the proper application.

What’s wrong? Programming, sleep, or nutrition?

Old age. All joking aside. Programming is number 1 haven’t been doing any form of deload like I should and pushing when I should back off. 2 my aerobic capacity is down since I have been slacking on it.
Last and not least my eating has been sub par.

Well at least now you have a good reason to eat more food! Clean eating of course

Toying with the idea of trying my hand at sumo deads again and sticking with it for more then 4 weeks.

I did those for a training block once lol!

Yeah I have played with them and that is about it… On the same note , I find it amusing how you have got guys claiming using it is cheating. Its one hell of a bitch too master form wise.

Yeah, I caught that thread after my previous comment here. I always felt way better doing conventional, just was more natural. When I was in my twenties I could pull decent weight. My back hurts just thinking about what my form really looked like on max efforts. So once I dialed things back I gave sumo a go for a bit, just to try it out but I prefer conventional, double overhand with weights I can use safely. Sometimes straps if my grip feels fried.

For me… the only question is if my hips are suited for sumo. I have said this in the past with my arm and torso length along with my short femur I am more suited for it. Considering that when I pull conventional the bar at lock out it is over my little fella. But I know ultra wide is out off the table and I plan on using more of a hybrid stance like below.

Hey whatever works for ya big dog! I felt I could do either but I’m not pursuing big weights in deadlift just want to increase my strength and stay safe.

It was good enough for the GOAT, Ed Coan…

True. Messing around I find that version feels more natural since it closely mimics my squat stance.

Buffalo Bar Bench: worked up to 370lbs/167.8kg for a top single dropped do and did 2 x 5 @ 70% of top set. Well it was a training PR! Ok it was a cheap one because I have never worked up before with that bar.

CG Swiss bar floor press: 3 x 3-5 @ SW
Pulldowns: 5 x 10 @ SW
Hammer curls: 4 x 10 @ SW
Band pull aparts: 100 total reps

Ehhh… yeah going to do some type of deload for the next week. The top set felt way too heavy bringing it down. Can tell something is slightly fried.
