believe it or not the trap bar deads didnt surprise me as much as his over head pressing did.
Yeah, my sons becoming a lifter with the formation of callouses on his hands ![]()

Did this weight pretty damn easy a few weeks ago so im just going to mark it down as a off session. I guess will see what next weekend brings
deads off floor: 2 x 5 x 415
Speed pulls: 10 singles x 305
Standing Band Crunches : 5 x 15
Post workout: Pvc rolls lower back and glutes
Well, as I said I’m not going into panic mode as of yet over a poor pulling session. Definitely going to drop the T bars until after the Meet .Since they are cutting into my lower backs recovery.
Hehe, …no surprises here ![]()

For someone who isn’t doing Power lifting the trap bar is a very good tool. Here a article of value you could read…

Bullpup
Squat: bar x 10
80 x 5
100 x 5
120 x 3
130 x 5
150 x 5
170 x 8…He actually had more in him but his calve started to cramp.
Pull ups :5/4/3/2/1/8
Dips :5/4/3/2/1/14
Great squats and deads. Not to mention, that is a ton of work.
Great squats for pup as well.

Incline: 255 x 10 /4 …just didnt have any gas in me to complete the targeted reps on second set
Standing BTN: 2 x 12 x SW
Skull crushers: 2 x 12 x SW
Well , other then fucking up on my last heavy set on bench it was a OK session. For the record only two sessions left until the Meet.
Question: Is there some unwritten rule that you have to always use 135lbs on your first set of bench? Every time I see these young guys come to the gym they always have to start with 135 without exception, even if their max bench is only 200lbs. I just find it funny that I just start with the bar.

Not a rule at all. I always end with 135, or something close, like 145. I never start with it a near max weight.
Always start with the bar, I actually need to as it helps me just concentrate on form and getting my foot placement right…I do jump right to one plate after however…
It’s ego.

it sure is…
I always start with 135, cause its just a light comfortable weight.
Good work with the Bullpup!!! I start with the bar then go to 135
My first 3-5 sets are warmups but I use them as speed sets (dynamic) before going on to the heavier weights which I try to emulate the bar speed.
give’em Hell at the meet.
What weight class?

Really hasn’t been to hard to get BP to progress. I’m just giving him his workout criteria and monitoring his form. Other then that its all him.
That’s pretty similar how I go about it on Bench. From the bar to the mid 250 I do a controlled eccentric but I really concentrate on being damn explosive on the concentric.
Thanks…Ill try to give it Hell.
Ill be going in the 275 weight class again, But close to 10 lbs lighter then my last Meet with slightly better body composition. I probably could cut down to the 242’s no problem. But at this point im not going to risk cutting because I end up biting myself in the ass. This fall I plan to be back down into the 242’s .

Well the more I think about it ,I definitely think after this upcoming Meet that im going to call Whole sale slaughter on my upper back. I’ve come to the realization that my upper back is honestly weak and i really need to just hammer the hell out of it, from my Traps on down. Allot of weight and a shit load of volume.
DB rows: 110 x 25…Passed on the T Bar to save the lower back for Sunday training.
Pull downs close grip: 4 x 10 x SW
Shrugs : 3 x 10 x 405
Axel bar arm curls: 2 x 10 x SW

I’d like to have your weak back and be able to bench around 450 like you do! But I hear you, I just figured out the exact same thing- I’m addiing in lots of pull ups and rows in the next couple of months.
Axel bar arm curls: 2 x 10 x SW[/quote]
