Bulldog and Bullpup Log Part 2

I’m glad that you are taking a more reserved approach to the meet. I am one of those folks who would be stressed into hospitalization over something like that. While there obviously needs to be a fire in your gut, no need in stressing yourself into failure.

Nice work, btw…even with the CGB hangover.

Nice benchin bro, what is a dead bench?

That’s the situation im trying to avoid. I’m definitely trying to avoid being to amped up form now until the Meet. Basically im trying to save it all up for the day of the Meet. Of course that’s easier said then done since by my nature I’m a high strung type in the first place.

Thanks, but I should have stuck with the original plan.

Hey ! It wont let me link back into your old log but you can probably just answere me and save me the time anyway  When you got your son lifting was he strong enough for the 45lb bar or did you start him off with a lighter one?
Well he was strong enough to use a 45. But I was able to borrow a light Olympic bar from the Damutt ( which I need to get back to him). So I went ahead and used the lighter bar on some of his upper movements at least for his warm up sets. Now if your planning on starting one of your kids lifting I would suggest going that route. In my opinion its better to focus on the form and developing the movement pattern. Once the movement becomes second nature to them the weight will come in no time.
He really seems to be interested once i get him distracted from his bf (X Box) He was always a sports kid and is very athletic, but with each move seemed to lose confidence.
G gave me a couple Oly lift Dvds so Im starting to play around with them which seems to interest him. I enjoy to see your vids and its been a great tool to show my son, thanks!

I have to say that really is the best compliment I have ever been paid. Thank you…that has brighten up my day and is very humbling for me knowing that somewhere the few videos I post of myself and my son might be having a positive influence on someone in someway. Again, I thank you.

9/5/11

Warm up: ALLOT!!!

Squat: bar x 10
95 x 5
135 x 5
205 x 5
255 x 5
310 x 3
385 x 5
435 x 3
485 x 1…Pretty sure I could have squeezed a second no problem wasn’t going to push it.

Reverse band deads: 135 x 5
260 x 5
310 x 3
370 x 2
420 x 1
475 x 1
500 x 0…UGH ,I just couldnt get my hips to fire threw .Pretty wasted at this point

*** skipped the accessory work due to the fact we had family over for the Holiday and this session was taking up to much time.

I was afraid this session was going to be total crap. My lower body felt stiff and every thing felt gummed up. Sorta like the Tin man in the Wizard of Oz after the rain. Happily the squats went alright.
I got a wild hair and decided to do some Reverse band Deads. I haven’t done these in a long time. I set them up to where there was maybe about 100lbs deload on the bottom with all the tension released just below the knees. I can honestly say these work the hell out of my hips. As you can see I didnt go very heavy on them never the less as I type this my glutes and hips are telling me to go to Hell. So all in all it was a alright session, but nothing to write home about.

Dogg, you make me smile. Much good stuff in here.

Thank you sir.

Came across this enjoy.

RANT WARNING!!!..revisiting a old rant read at your own risk.

Ive been going out of the over 35 forum and been looking at a few of the others forums on this site. Big mistake on my part I know. I cant help but wonder what % of of the people aren’t what they say they are. I hate to use the term Keyboard lifters…but if the shoe fits. Honestly ,what number of people whom post are using some made up Internet persona? I don’t know it just kind of bothers me when I see guys trying to come across as Gurus but yet they have never posted pics of themselves or videos of themselves. God forbid ,you ever question some of these guys regarding there actual qualifications to give out a shit load of advice… Maybe im just odd in that way I view things. But if someones going the play the role as Guru then in my book they had better be willing to post something to back there claims and to verify at least the fact they actually train. I guess its just a pet peeve of mine. I know its the Internet and its the way it is but does anyone else ever gets annoyed with it?

Totally agree, which is why I rarely get into any e-fights, as Id rather argue in person to really see where the person is coming from. Ohh and I bet people would be less demonstrative face to face and less apt to insult. Also this is a forum and site where if your gonna put up stats and talk about how you should lift, the correct way to build a physique yadda yadda you SHOULD post pics and vids or else your words dont mean shit.

My pet peeve is when they post pix and videos and have done well in contests and have certs in training . . . and they STILL don’t know shit.

EDIT: so are you saying the Over 35 folks do know what they’re talking about?

Annoyed? That the world is full of punk-ass morons with overinflated sense of themselves?

No. Just disappointed.

But don’t be angry with the stupid people. They’re the cannon fodder that keeps Darwin away from the rest of us.

Ha…Ha

Not very heavy? You sure know how to make a guy feel good about himself. 500# is my max!..for now.

Very good point.

Yep the whole concept of a E-fighting is just stupid in my book. The whole notion of arguing on line about training principle with someone is just retarded. More so when you don’t know who your really arguing with. I don’t see a purpose in it . What is the point for a guy like me arguing with some kid on line who has been lifting maybe a year, whom I might out weight by 80 lbs and who can barely squat 200 lbs? Honestly I have better things to do with my time. Also your right half the people probably would not be all Billy bad ass if they where face to face with whom ever the ripping on. Hell yes !! Talk is cheap a person should be able to back there shit up. Other wise they need to just shut up and sit down a listen.

I love the way, every 160 lb teenager on earth can bench 400lbs and deadlift 500lbs. Why bother lying to people on here. Its very weird to me.

That falls in the opposite end of the spectrum. But unfortunately there are guys who are just gifted. Whom reach a certain high level in a short amount of time in spite of there lack of knowledge. I know one guy who has seen some decent success in his younger days. But his actual knowledge Inst as great as others I know.

A Few…and those that don’t are at least willing to admit to it.

Unfortunately, Natural selection isn’t doing the job anymore.
