Its been a busy weekend for us. In two days we’ve been to a dual wrestling meet on Saturday and today was a ISWA Folk style tournament today.

Well Saturday was a school function.

Well the youngest went 1-2.

Bullpup went 3-0 all by pins.

We where asked if Bullpup would enter today’s ISWA by a friend of the family. BP didnt want go …but we talked him into it.

In all seriousness after thinking about this weekend all I have to say is damn.

I’m pretty sure Bullpups mind set was this…

Saturday one of the assistant varsity coach showed out to watch his incoming Freshman. BP stepped it up on his last two matches and put on a show. The second one he went through the kid like a buzz saw I don’t think it lasted more then 30 seconds. The Third kid I actually felt sorry for. He was the same height and weight as BP and that’s as far as it went. The poor kid was soft and pudgy and was scared shit-less. It lasted less then his second match. Seriously it look like a man wrestling a boy. I’m sorta ashamed of how aggressive the Pup was with the kid. I’m fine with him being aggressive but sheesh and that aggression continued until his win last win on Sunday.

I honestly think hes just started to peak . Honestly he did things a little different this year regarding what weight class he competed in. Last year he was in the 105 which was a bear to maintain since he always seems to hit a growth spurt this time of year. This year hes in the 130 class. Honestly I wasn’t sure about the method to his madness at the start of wrestling conditioning back in late November he was around 123lbs. The little freak has put on almost seven pounds of solid meat and I do mean SOLID MEAT on his frame. I’m pretty darn sure hes way under 10 % BF with him actually eating and eating well…trust me where going through gallons of milk a week along with everything else the walking garbage disposal is downing.(Lets give three cheers to high “Test” level of a young teenage boy). Which I think is giving him a advantage over the kids hes wrestling. Because the more serious kids are trying to maintain a lower body weight. Ive notice that some of these kids start to get haggard and weak.Then you have BP who is fully feed and ready to go.

I talked to the coach I mentioned earlier on about. He says that’s BP biggest issue will be dealing with much older and stronger kids at the High school level…
HMMMMMMMM…Lets just say I might have a surprise for the coach come start of next season :slight_smile:

Squat: Bar x 3 x 10
135 x 2 x 5
235 x 5
290 x 4
340 x 3
395 x 2
445 x 1…nice and easy, no worries
395 x 8…Didn’t push it left reps in the tank, Ill bust out more reps next session with this weight

Pause squats: (Used Manta ray) 2 x 5 x 340…I got stupid with these. To make them harder I got out the Manta ray and took a close stance. I sunk the reps really deep and stayed down for at least a 3 count on each rep. My hammies didnt care for theses

GHR: 10 …Freaking right Hamstring cramped

Side bends : 3 x 8 x 85
Standing band crunches: 5 x 10

UGH… I still felt like crap today. But I pulled up my big boy pants and got a alright session in.

OH…on another note. Back in October Canada K said after viewing my Meet video, That I had no ass. I would be happy to inform him after messing with a higher rep range in squats. That my Buttocks is much larger and protruding… Actually in retrospect , I find his remark disturbing…

Which is the problem I have with “fitness” or some bodybuilding programs. They starve you to death, you’re cutting calories, eating salad, that sort of thing. The only way I can make any progress is by force feeding myself, then I feel great and ready to lift.

I think it was bodybuilder Don Long who advocated stuffing yourself silly and doing tons of cardio and weight lifting - sure worked for for him.

I think im going to touch on that in the next edition.

Yeah, that’s the tipoff you put on flab instead of muscle.

Back in 1990, I got so frustrated that I just choked down everything in sight. Put on weight fast . . . around the waist. took a while to get it off. Nowadays eat more intelligently, a lot but the right stuff.

Yeah I really ballooned up near the holidays. I’m only weighing a little less then at the last Meet but my Body fat has drooped by allot.

Well…three guesses who is feeling like death warmed over. I said heck with it and used 4 hours of vacation today and came home. I loaded up on NyQuil last night in hopes of getting a good nights sleep. 5 hours was it. I woke up feeling miserables at 3 A.M. Looks like ill call off lifting today.

Well I was able to get in close to 14 hrs of sleep thanks to overloading on Nyquil. So im almost over it but im not 100% yet. I should be hitting it tomorrow.
