Along with what few multi joint movements he might use aren’t even in the same ball park as myself in a workout. ( not trying to sound arrogant). The guy might bench between 135-185 lbs on the bench and might do a few reps with 95lbs on a seated press. So needless to say that my wife has no clue how fatigued I get from time to time.
I think a lot of our wives and non-training partners don’t have much of a clue about what we do and why we do it. People who don’t lift can’t really comprehend how impressive the things you do are (MP 185 x 14 and 375 x 12 on the squat) compared to the average person.
I guess we just have to get used to being unappreciated by our spouses.
The real tragedy is that if you had a six pack but were as weak as a gay kitten, they’d probably sit up and take notice and be impressed!
Happy New Year.
Keep on rantin’
Well its not a matter of feeling under appreciated by my wife. Its just she doesn’t have a firm grasp that from time to time that the crap I do to myself can be kinda of demanding. To her doing exercise is suppose to make one feel good and not ware them out.

Dogg, your wife is overall a wonderfully supportive lady. Get some sleep and all this will be unimportant in the morning. Either way, you’ve got 100% support here.
Woof!

Thanks , I do feel the love in here
Not much to report today. Doing deload this week. Im skipping today because its only 20 degrees outside right now and I really dont want to go to the YMCA. Tommorrow its suppose to be near 40 degrees and Friday a high near 50. I think Ill spent this evening reading Practical Programming by Mark Rippetoe which I downloaded on my wifes Kindel Fire which I got her for Christmas.
The Iron never lies to you. You can walk outside and listen to all kinds of talk, get told that you are a god or a total bastard. The Iron will always kick you the real deal. The Iron is the great reference point, the all-knowing perspective giver. Always there like a beacon in the pitch black. I have found the Iron to be my greatest friend. It never freaks out on me, never runs. Friends may come and go. But two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds.
Ive been lucky so far this winter that its been down right mild at this point. Right now its 51 degrees out. So I haven’t had to go to the local YMCA
As long as it doesn’t dip below 40 degrees I can stay somewhat comfortable below that it get pretty hard for me to actually actually get my joint nice and warmed up along with keeping them that way.
Hopefully my luck will hold out for while longer. If there is a bright side to going to the Y is seeing the crushed egos of the bro tards when im warming up with there bench maxes. ( I know its pretty petty and juvenile on my part)
HAHA. That was well done Bulldog. I give it 3 Snaps in a Z formation!
I can’t out bench the brotards. But I do have a decent deadlift. I love seeing the younger (often bigger) guys quickly “finish” what they’re doing, or “decide” to do some other exercise, once I get past my warmups.
Even with my pathetic squat, I can see they’re puzzled by how low I’m going; unfortunately, I have not seen any light bulbs go off yet…
Deads: 135 x 5
185 x 5
230 x 5
280 x 5
Rows: 110 x 5/135 x 5/165 x 5
MPress: bar x 20
95 x 5
115 x 5
140 x 5
Shrugs : 2 x 225 x 15
Arm super set: Band push downs/ straight bar curls
Bench sit ups: 3 x10
Damn im glad today was a deload. It was one of those days that nothing was clicking. For some reason my motivation was jack and shit. Of course it might be partially to the fact that this was a deload week. Oh well , Monday I start the 5’s wave . I have to correct something I said regarding this program. I mentioned that the volume drops as the intensity rises. In reality it doesn’t the work volume pretty much stays constant on the first and second phases. I hadn’t notice when the reps drop extra sets are added on these phases. For example Monday Ill be using 70% of my training max on my work sets. Not to bad , But it calls for 6 sets of 5. Oh . Yippy.

How much poundage are you trying to drop? At least, I assume that’s the reason for the treadmill.
And you really are so ingenious when it comes to finding pics and vids that are relevant to your log title!
I don’t have a body weight goal in mind. I have two goals in adding some treadmill work.
Help improve my body composition. My BF% has gotten a little out of hand . To the point that any leverage benefit gained from the extra bulk isn’t worth it at this point.
Improve my work capacity.
Another benefit I hope is seeing if it will help in recovery.
NOT A RANT ,just a observation. Totally meaning less and probably a waste of time to read.
OK I was bored. I’m waiting for playoff to start and the wife is out shopping. I was looking at the other forums on this site. I looked at the group section. The Brotherhood of Iron and T cell Alpha. Got to say not allot of activity on these two locations. I understand that theses two groups are by invite only. In the hope that it will keep trolls and undesirables out. Which isn’t a bad thing in itself. But, it looks as if its in desperate need for some new blood. Other then a core few it seems there has been a huge drop off of people whom post in there. I would guess this is do to the fact that a large majority of individuals whom where given the nod to post in there weren’t going to be life long lifters as it was . Of course that could be me talking out my ass.
On the other hand I got to say the over 35 forum has become a pretty damn busy place compared it seems to a few other forums. Ive noticed that someone can post on a Monday and find themselves on the second page within a few days.
Again this isn't a rant. Just me being bored and just talking about a meaning less thing just to kill time.
Well picked up a Treadmill today.Let the fun begin…Not.
Looking lean Bro!!
That treadmill is the dog’s bollocks!
Might not work. I’m not sure if you have that saying over there. English people would understand it. I think it’s quite clever because it’s a slang term meaning that something is awesome ‘and’ you can see the dog’s bollocks…get it?..get it?..oh nevermind.
Brett, your British humor is simply too highbrow for us low life trailer trash.
Dogg, I applaud your efforts to dump some weight. Can I humbly suggest you think about cutting some simple and/or starchy carbs and replacing them with healthy fats? Snack on nuts, and drop a couple taters… that kind of thing.

Don’t be tetchy, I wasn’t implying that anyone was too thick to understand, just that if you didn’t have the saying ‘the dog’s bollocks’ it wouldn’t make much sense.
Much in the way that I don’t understand what broheim means, who or what a Guido is, what drinking the Koolaid means and who Lawrence Welk is, to name a few.
