375x12, and you think that sucks balls, huh?
That’s pretty cool. I’d really love to see what you could pull off with better lung power.
x2
Thats fine squatting but I’d like to see what you hit without stonewalling on the breathing.
Honestly ,I’m pretty sure I had at least 2 or 3 in me maybe. I still had some power left in my hips and legs. But like I mentioned my cardiovascular system had other ideas.

Damn Bulldog, 375x12 is a conditioning session in itself isnt it? Amazing squatting bro.
Thanks, Heck for me anymore anything over 5 reps Intel’s conditioning.
UGH!!! I had to go to work today. Only have to work 3 days this week. But my department is working from 3:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Right now im going on four hours of sleep. Wouldn’t phase me if I was younger.
Day two down. Actually was able to get some sleep in last night. But my ass is still dragging. Holding off from lifting tonight.More then likely ,If I can get a little more sleep tonight Ill do it tomorrow if not then Friday.

I guess the wife has gotten a few Holidays offers. Mostly going out to dinner and then hitting the bars.Since me and the wife are such old fogies anymore we both decided to pass on the bar thing. More then likely we will stay home and play cards with the boys and watch the ball drop at Time square on TV…WOW we sure like living on the edge:)
I’m getting caught up on the logs and just have to tell you that I laughed myself silly about your typo on the 2012 goals thread. You really crack me up.
115 x 5
140 x 3
160 x 2
170 x 1
185 x 14..... Well, I'm happy for a change for good reason. Alright, going with the progression model im using going over 6 reps over the 8 standard would justify me adding 7.5 lbs to my working max. Since Ill be starting the 5's wave after my deload Ill go ahead and round it up to 10 lbs.
Close grip 2 board bench : worked up to a single with 355 I played it safe and wasn’t going to push it any higher.
Bent flyes: 3 x 12 x 40
arm curls: 3 x 6 x who cares
Ab fall aways: 5 x 10
I was surprised that this session turned out pretty decent. Majority of the day my left shoulder felt like ass. Pretty sure I slept on it wrong last night so I thought today’s session was going to be a bust. Strangely enough for me at any rate, sessions which I think are going to be crap end up being good. While on days I feel good turn out to be crap. Go figure.

light stretching
Deadlift: 135 x 5
230 x 5
280 x 3
325 x 2
350 x 1
370 x 12..........SUCKKKKKED,
Deficient deads: 2 x 4 x 350
Bent rows: 210 x 5/ 235 x 3/ 260 x 5…I don’t know if I mentioned this but im using 5/3/1 progression on these plus im doing these much like a Pendlay row.
Shrugs: 3 x 15 x 330
GHR: 30 rep total
Bench sit ups: 3 x 10 x 10
Well got the 8 wave done with onto the 5’s. Deload next week.
My mouth over loaded my brain last night. OK , lets put this in prospective. For three night in a row this week Ive averaged maybe about 4 and a 1/2 hours sleep and that’s pushing it. On top of that most of yesterday my left shoulder was bothering me. Yet I was able to suck it up and had a above average session last night. Well, last night I was laying in bed around 8:30 last night. My wife started nagging me about what the hell was I so tired from. In true blunt honesty I responded " It’s not like im walking on a Fucking tread mill while im in the garage!!!". OH SNAP!!!. Which is the extent of the exertion she has done in a gym environment. Needless to say I think I might have kinda pissed the wife off. But in all honesty I don’t think she has a clue how much lifting can take out of a person, if there really pushing it. Awhile back ago she committed how her friends husband lifts weights and according to his wife he never gets tired from lifting. Go figure, What my wife fails to under stand is that her friends husband doesn’t squat or dead . Along with what few multi joint movements he might use aren’t even in the same ball park as myself in a workout. ( not trying to sound arrogant). The guy might bench between 135-185 lbs on the bench and might do a few reps with 95lbs on a seated press. So needless to say that my wife has no clue how fatigued I get from time to time.
You’re so right. You need to explain the difference between exercising vs. lifting…
I honestly don’t think me trying to explain to my wife the difference in the amount of effort required between someone whom is just exercising for fitness. As opposed to say someone whom is training to be competitive in organised competition. I feel honestly its not going to draw any sympathy from my wife.

Ugh, at 13 hes not old enough in my mind to be telling a young lady that.
atypical1 wrote:
Haha…that’s awesome. We’ve all been there and unless the other person has actually done the lifts then they don’t really understand.
Very true. Sorta in the same vein but kinda off subject. I find that I avoid conversation with people regarding lifting if there just doing it for general fitness and aren’t that serious about it.

I see, Ill sorta be a guinea pig to see what to do or not to do when you are faced with the same situation.

I think a lot of our wives and non-training partners don’t have much of a clue about what we do and why we do it. People who don’t lift can’t really comprehend how impressive the things you do are (MP 185 x 14 and 375 x 12 on the squat) compared to the average person.
I guess we just have to get used to being unappreciated by our spouses.
The real tragedy is that if you had a six pack but were as weak as a gay kitten, they’d probably sit up and take notice and be impressed!

I’ll never come within spitting distance of Bulldog’s strength, but this ^^^, I’m 90% there. Females of the world, sit up, take notice, and be impressed by The Mighty Punnyguy!
Dogg, your wife is overall a wonderfully supportive lady. Get some sleep and all this will be unimportant in the morning. Either way, you’ve got 100% support here.
Woof!
