There’s nothing inspirational about me…There nothing kind in my words, I have no doubt that you can achieve your goals as long as you keep working at it. The only thing I think you lack is confidence in regards to the weights. Luckily confidence is one thing a person can control.

Trivia note: have you heard of Beauty and the Beast contests? The ladies compete in a beauty pageant, the guys do strongman.
I look forward to the day I can de-load at your level…
That day is probably sooner than you think. Thanks for the compliment.
Buy the way ,what I said in your log still stands. Wasn’t very impressed by the site you mentioned. Mater of fact your better off without it.I think you will enjoy it here in the over 35 there allot of great people on here.Word of warning you might not find all the other forums on this site as pleasant. Regardless its great to have a new person in this forum and Ill be following along on your log.
Well…I mentioned yesterday the tendinitis in my left bicep is almost cleared up. But its not 100% just yet.DAMN IT!!! Right now im 11 days out , so im going to really load up on ibuprofen and start alternation ice and heat on the area to hopefully speed things up.
I’ll be really curious to see how a long de-load affects your meet performance. I’m always scared to deload much because I lose strength in the amount of time it takes to blink.
Really looking forward to a meet video. I just love those.

And you know I’m wishing you the best of luck
Yeah , I’m curious to see what happens also. If it helps then ill do it again. If not then Ill be pissed and not do it again.
Like I said I will post one unless I totally fall on my face this time around.
Thank you I appreciate and need all the luck I can take.

I hear a lot fo talk about 4 week deloads by some of the more advanced lifters. I think your deload made a lot of sense. I’m all aflutter over here.
Honestly, If there is any down side to how approach this meet it will be mental more then anything. Just because of the fact that Ive been slowly backing down and haven’t used near maximal wight for a few weeks . But on the flip side my CNS is a 100% along with a large load of adrenaline ready to be released. All in all my body is feeling pretty rested right now ,no fatigue just a few nagging ache and pains which is normal for me. More or less im ready to roll the dice and see what happens.
Well one more game for the season. After which the pup will be back in the garage to gain a little more strength for the up coming wrestling season. Which might be interesting this year ,and he might reach his goal of going undefeated. Here’s a few things i haven’t mentioned lately.
The little freak had his BF% taken by his PE teacher. The freak came in at 4%.
-Hes added 10 lbs of body weight in the past 2 and half months and by my eyes it was all meat.
Two weeks ago he wrapped his arms around my hips and actually picked me off the ground a few inches. Mind you I out weigh him by 135 lbs.
We where wrestling around the other night and I was shocked by the amount of strength I had to call into play to actually to get him down. His physical strength has seem to have sky rocked in a very short amount of time.
Squat : 2 x 10 x bar
135 x 5
225 x 5
315 x 3
345 x 1
Speed deads: 6 sets of 1 x 315
Standing band crunches : 5 x 10
DONE!!! That all she wrote.Wont have a weight in my hands again until this time next Saturday. Only thing I plan on doing until then is ride the PVC pipe and some stretching and praying to the Gods of iron that Ill have a decent day.
I’m really looking forward to hearing about the meet. Deloads are tough to go through aren’t they? You feel like you should be doing something more than you are and it’s hard to wrap your head around going light and not leaving the session totally wiped.
How was the show? You definitely should get a LOT of points for doing that. I mean that’s a completely selfless act as I suspect you’ve not got a lot of interest in it.
