Long long ago, I started my lifting journey with 20 rep squats. I didn’t eat appropriately to see much for size gains, during or after.
All the gains in “mental toughness”, work capacity, and strength stuck around.
If you can keep your connective tissue and joints from complaining too much, I’d recommend doing this at least once.
