Bulking

Hi, I’m just now done with my wrestling season, and I’ve been deprived of being able to lift weights a whole lot from cutting so much weight and time etc. I’m looking to bulk from 140-160 in the next 4 months or so. Should I go with a powerlifting program, or some other split?

For me, I gained the most size/strength working each major BP once a week, lifting heavy weights and low reps, and 2-3 minutes rest between sets, and I dont allow my heart rate to stay elevated for any longer than I have too. I like to do 3x5, with maybe 3 exercises. A sample shoulder day for me would look like this:

  1. Standing Military Press 3x5
  2. Arnold Press 3x5
  3. Lat BB/DB Raise 3x5

Everyones different in how they react to training programs, but this is just works for me. And of course the standard increase in cals by adding an extra meal in there somewhere, or an extra weight gain shake a day. Hope this helps.
