Bulking How Its Done

I’m very similar at the moment…50% fat / 40% protein / 10% carbs.
Do you ‘re-feed’ carbs once a week or so?
Not really. On a leg day I might get as high as 15-20% carbs. I don’t really have a problem with energy or feeling “flat”, so I don’t see the point in doing it.

People always talk about energy and needing carbs. I feel better on 7% carbs and 3000+ calories than on 40% carbs and 2000-2500 calories (about where I’d have to be to stay at the same leanness).
The best way to bulk is to stuff your face. Drink gallons of milk with sugar in it, pour olive oil and double cream on everything and eat a pizza or two every day.
Dave Tate used to eat shitload of Chinese buffett food and then used jumbo-pizza soaked in olive oil for dinner to break 300 lb. barrier. It worked for him.

Yup! Many people got great results with that.
Oh yeah I forgot to add to that a few grams of test, plenty of hgh and dianabol. Should do the trick.
With that diet and those compounds you would turn into a big ball of bloofy water and fat
Surely that depends on the exact macro breakdown and amount of cardio and conditioning work you do on top of your heavy lifting?

It is possible to eat the foods I’ve described within a properly structured diet.

If you keep calories the same, a diet with more dairy will build more mass. Dairy is insulinogenic.
Ok man believe what you want. This is enough of a derail. I am done

I turned into a fatass eating much cleaner than that with much less calories than the 8,000 kcals a day you prescribed. If that works for you, then you sir are a genetic freak and I hope you’re going pro soon.

Yes, we know the JM Blakely-Westside method of bulking

Yeah, it worked for them in getting elite totals.

Is this good in the long run, especially for health and aesthetics? NO. If I recall correctly, Dave Tate had to diet down to 230 to be lean, which would indicated a SEVENTY pound weight loss, if I’m correct in having it that he weighed around 300 pounds at his heaviest.

Correct, even sugar (gasp), so long as the diet has some other good foods in it.

Yeah, just like a diet with eggs and meat will.

The problem is your suggestion of “stuffing one’s face” which usually means eating indiscriminate amounts of food.

It’s ok to bump calories heavy for periods of time IMO but I think if you break the 15 percent bodyfat barrier then it’s time to back off. That being said, if I was running smolov and broke 15 percent then I wouldn’t change anything I’d eat what I felt necessary. I also think its ok to break the 15 percent mark if you really are putting the time in the gym and with conditioning. If you really are working your ass of then you will still be gaining muscle and when you do back off you’ll burn it off quick.

If you like that way of doing things and your overall body mass is important (fat and muscle), then that’s fine.

I think it’s obvious with ALL this talk about body comp lately that many people didn’t and don’t like walking around fat. As I’ve said elsewhere, I certainly didn’t like it. I don’t like walking around sweating and smelling. I don’t like being uncoordinated and clumsy and doofy. I don’t like ruining pants (three I ruined). I don’t like clothing looking like crap on me. I don’t like out of control hunger pangs.

Now just because someone’s bf is higher doesn’t mean they are uncoordinated lol

This is definitely true. ME, I feel quite clumsy when I get fat. But then again, I’m not really a big guy, meaning that regardless of muscle, I have a medium sized frame and I’m only 5’10". I don’t have “sausage fingers”, “cankles”, and Fred Flinstone feet. My bro on the other hand, although he’s only about half an inch taller, has a totally different frame than me.

That was what I was shooting for. It is a term 99% of people understand when you use it.

I’m not sure if this was addressed earlier or not but what is the purpose of “the bulk” in this thread?

Because obviously goals mean a whole bunch when it comes to answering the question of “How do you guys go about a bulk?”

Distinctions must be made.

Distinctions are always important.

I’ve a feeling there will be less overall disagreement when the varying possible goals are distinguished.

For me personally its about getting bigger and leaner but if your goals are only stronger and bigger go ahead on how you approach that.
