I am fairly new to bulking and I have never done it before and I am not really sure where to start. I’m about 5’7, 158 lbs, and around 4-5% body fat. I’ve been lifting weights now for about two years and spent some time in a college football weight room. I’m looking to maybe bulk up to 165 for now because I’m not really sure where I want to be. Is it possible to bulk up and lose fat in the process?
I’ve eaten right before but I just can’t seem to drop fat, is there any advice for me. Should I take a supplement for it or do it the natural way? I really want to lean out and bulk up but I’m not sure where to start.
I am what I say I am, it’s that most of the fat is around my abs. I don’t know if that means my carbs are too high or what and I know I can’t spot reduce. I figure if I bulk up it should lean me out at the same time because I have a natural low bf percentage, but I just don’t know where to start.
If you are a true 4-5% you are going to have a very hard time gaining weight and losing fat. Also a bulking goal of only 7 lbs should be very easy to achieve.

OK - if you’re 4-5% and you say want to ‘lean out’, then you don’t actually know your bf%.
5% bf means you’ve got 8lbs of fat. You’re saying that that’s concentrated at your abs? I don’t think so.
That would mean every part of your body is striated to shit, except your abs. I’d need to see a picture, and even then I’d call photoshop.
Are you sure you don’t have some sort of body image problem?
I just want to bulk up bro, I’ve never bulked before. I don’t want to look like a short fat guy. I’m only going for a 7 lb gain right now because I’m not sure where I want to be for a weight.
I mean I am pretty lean, but maybe it’s because I don’t always work abs either, I don’t fuckin know. It’s always been trial and error and nothing seems to work. I worked out in a college football weight room for 1 1/2 semesters, I just don’t seem to be as jacked and clean as I want to be.
