Bulking and Cutting for Athletes?

Is this just stupid? For next season football.
I understand bodybuilders doing it, but what about athletes? (not saying bodybuilders arent athletes)

What?

Phill

Phill I think he is talking about bulking and cutting.

I don’t think it’s stupid necessarily, but I don’t think you would go about it with the same mindset or purpose of a bodybuilder.

If you are already at or close to a decent weight for you position you should not be worrying about bulking or cutting, your number 1 goal should be performance.

If being overweight is your main concern you may want to cut. However you should plan to finish cutting way before the pre-season.

If you are worried about being under weight, than you can bulk but make sure you focus on your skills, speed, and strength transfer the entire time you are bulking. If you ever feel your max speed is slowing down you should probably slow your bulking.

Nah, man, don’t fuckin bulk. You could drop dead at 18 because of it. and avoid pizza pies like the flippin plague.

If you want to get bigger, eat a lot of food, but don’t eat too much junk. If you can, try to eat 5 servings of fruits and veggies each every day. Eat at least 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight each day as well. Make sure you eat 5-6 times a day. 1 or 2 of those meals could be protein shakes.

Eating frequently will keep your metabolism elevated and prevent you from overeating during individual meals. Also, make sure you focus on proper workout nutrition. Take surge before and after your workouts. And taking a fish oil supplement will help to prevent you from gaining too much fat.

Doing all of that will help you gain weight while preventing you from getting fat.

And doesn’t football season start in like 2 weeks?

I know practice started a few weeks ago.
