CT, I’ve not seen this specific question asked as of yet in any of the BFB threads, so I thought I’d go ahead and post.
I understand you have a specific preference for SGHP to be performed from blocks, generally. In the original write up for the BFB program, did you perform the SGHP from blocks or from the floor? I don’t want to assume to know your answer, or think about things exactly the way you do. I doubt this matters significantly, other than personal preferences, equipment availability, or individual weaknesses. I just thought I’d post on the topic to hear your thoughts.
I’ve heard him say that he does them from the hang for hypertrophy and body composition reasons. And do them from the blocks or hang, whichever you are best at and don’t have to worry as much about technique and can focus on getting better at the movement. So basically whichever is best for you.

I recall CT suggesting blocks/hang variations for T-Nation followers who do NOT compete in Olympic weightlifting or who are new to the lifts. If you compete in weightlifting, floor work is preferential with occasional tweaks during training cycles with blocks to reinforce technique.
BTW–you’ve obviously done your homework by reading poorly-worded questions to Christian that typically piss him off

When training for size I do my high pulls from blocks or from the hang. Pulls from the floor are a lot more technical because you have to adjust the body as the bar passes the knees.
I do pulls from the floor when focusing on olympic lifting.
