Beast chest session I must say. From getting in late last night, I didn’t sleep much and was dragging ass all day, falling asleep during a boring webinar… and I had a bit of a mild headache that wouldn’t go away. Also, not sure why I had a lot of tightness in my leftside chest/trap/lat/arm/shoulder region. Spent awhile loosening it up and it wasn’t really happening, even after the cable flies, so I figured I was screwed, weight wise. I was wrong.

Thorough warmup

Cable flies: nice squeezes obvi

– Work sets: Last rep held a 10sec squeeze. Ouch.

Flat bench: reps felt strong and explosive. After the 275 warmup set, I knew it’d be good.
135 x 15

275 x 6 - like nothin, last rep paused
315 x 10+1 - Uhh lol wut? There was a jacked black dude that looked like Flex Wheeler I got to spot me, gave me a terrible handoff (picked it up and dropped it on me), and he arguably prematurely helped on the last rep. O well. I was really happy with this set.

Incline smith bench: slow negative, no lockout
185 x 25
225 x 15
275 x 7 + 2 - gassed, lol. drop 225 x 6

Cross-body one-armed HS incline: with 2sec squeezes
1 plate x 8 LR, 8 LR, 8 LR + 5 top squeezes + 5 bottom half ROM. Chest stretch.

Rope pressdowns / Incline DB curls: Pressdowns first half reps = 1sec squeeze, second half TUT / Curls = hard contraction slow neg.
50 x 25 / 15s x 25
60 x 20 / 25s x 20
70 x 16 / 25s x 15

Seated rope OH extensions / Straight-bar curls: slow neg/stretch emphasis on extensions, 2-3sec negs on curls
something x a lot / 65 x 10 → 3x

Meadows hammers / Meadows kickbacks: hard squeeze on both
35s x 10 LR / 15s x 10
35s x 10 LR / 15s x 10
35s x 8 LR / 15s x 10
25s x 10 LR long squeeze / 10s x 10

Stretch. 20min incline walking. Nothing terribly special for the arm work but wasn’t bad. These past couple weeks of work trips and vacay home I feel I’ve let myself go a bit so I’m going to tighten the reigns and see if I can get myself looking better in 1 week’s time when I go to the Dominican Republic for a week with my buddies. Leggo!

Dude, sick nasty bench press. It’s like Bug from yesteryear. Bench numbers finally big and bad again after that little drop off you suffered from the Japan trip, nice!

No I dont think you understand. He looked literally 2 weeks out from a national level show. Ok not srs in terms of size, but he was shredded, huge arms, tiny waist, perfect shapes and insertions. fml.

I had 2 session like that last week, where i felt like shit and wanted to sleep before getting in the gym but once warmed up had kick ass sessions. Cant always do what your mind really wants.

Jake, I assure you I’m not lean at all anymore. Smoothed over a lot, especially in the last few weeks. That’s what I get for thinking I can eat burritos and cookies daily and not get fat. Only a matter of time! S’okay, “live and learn”, right? It will still be a good time, and I’ve never had a problem pulling teh ladies even if I’m not shred. Though it helps. SO EXCITE AHH CAN THIS WEEK PLZ BE OVER.

Got a decent amount of sleep (for me… around 6.5hrs), feeling pretty good this morning, excited to hit back tonight. Feeling fat though and my waist is taping larger than it was a few weeks ago (ololo). Thus, might as well put this fatness to use and move some decent weight on the deadlift. If I could get 585 for 2-3, I’d be pleased. BUT we shall see.

Awesomeness round 2. I told myself I was gonna slaughter 585, and slaughter it I did, despite feeling like a goddamned balloon from a whey shake. Myofusion does not sit well with me apparently. Anywho, slow day at work overall, I was kinda out of it when I got to the gym but as always, stims kicked in, had a good warmup, and got to killing it.

Wide-grip pulldowns w/ 2sec hold + long stretch: these were sexual. Lat cramps out the wazoo.

One-armed barbell rows / Meadows rows: sick fucking superset. I saw some Antoine Valliant vid and he was doing this, so on a whim I tried them out. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I was sweating fucking bullets. Great form obvi.

Back hyperextensions: 3 sets x 12 BW. Then hanging latstretch with a 45. Too tired to do abs olol, so 20min incline walking to finish.
