The gym was pretty crazy packed and I was a little late and flustered to start, but AquaCruzer and I had a good-ass session. Took some video footage which should I’ll post in about a half an hour.

Seated military press - felt pretty sluggish today… getting that sleep didn’t exactly happen, lol.

225 x 3 - last rep was pretty slow. w/e w/e. I only weigh like 205 so I can’t expect much crazy strength at the moment.
185 x 10-12 - didn’t count. These reps felt good. On Aqua’s rep set I helped him slow down the negative and lift more like a bb’er and not just drop the weight on his chest. :wink:

Standing BTN press / seated front raises / seated laterals tri set (normally I’d have used much heavier weight for front raises and done them standing, but it was so damn crowded). Used 12.5s for the front/lateral raises and just tried to get that MMC going.
BTN presses went something like 65 x 25, 85 x ~20, 105 x 13-14 or w/e (video), then back down to 85 for a lot. We moved pretty fast through these. Was good fun.

Lateral partials / CT lateral things I saw in a video / full ROM (to overhead) DB raises (also from video)
75s / 32.5s / 10s - 3 sets thru. Video of second set.

Tried to do some rear delt stuff but didnt work out so great. lol. DB area was crazy crowded.

Deadstop barbell shrugs - pwrbarboy swears by these.

315 x 12
385 x 10-12 (on video idk) drop 225 x a lot drop 135 x 3 second squeezes.

Then 4-5 sets of standing calf raises.

I hate when it’s so crowded and hate when I’m pressed for time b/c of work, but it was a good session nonetheless. Video up soon.

Check out these swole mofos… Looks like a good session, and looks like that gym is packed as hell. No one gave you odd looks for filming though (at least not on film), which is cool. I seem to get the stink eye any time I bust out the camera at the gym.

My University gym will no doubt be packed like that next month when I start back. It’s a great gym but I don’t look forward to fighting for a DB bench. The deadstop shrugs look legit, I’ll switch to them once I stagnate with loose form…

PS- I was totally convinced Aqua was doing partial laterals with 325s. Then I saw the . We always stick to round KGs here so never have that confusion :slight_smile:

Jake - lol at partials with 325s. Yeah, I had never done shrugs like that before, but pwrbarboy does those with like 650lbs and he has pro-level traps, so I figured I’d give them a go. Hopefully if I get up to 5 plates in the next gaining period with that hold, my traps will be bigger. :slight_smile: Quite sore today.

Fabz - yeah I sweat sooo much, lol. I think my beard holds sweat like a sponge and i throw droplets on all the haterz when they stop n stare.

Blaze - yeah I mean some people kind of glance when they see you filming, and my buddy was making fun of me for filming (I said it was for my playgirl audition, haha). Gym employees usually get mad but they wuz 2 scurred to say anything.

On a random note, it’s funny/sad how sensitive my body is to bad eating. I’m at that level of leanness where I’m on the cusp of looking totally smoothed over if I make bad food choices. I was ravenously hungry after work yesterday and ate a bit much and not the greatest choice of foods (2 pulled pork tostadas with beans and onions, 2 tacos of beef tips and bacon in a spicy tomato sauce… om nom nom). Definitely looking smoother/more watery today, lol. Damn you spilling over!

Bug - how much of the VCO are you using each day? I know you have been told this before but you really do need to diet down a little more and get your ass on stage in the MP division. I am going to try to get into one towards the end of the year to check it out. Been looking at some of the result photos from different shows and you would place well. And the rules this year will be different from any other year because the class is new…excerpt from NPC site:

Have you ever done high pulls from a hang? You can’t use nearly as much weight but it really hits the traps hard.

Bug I have a serialz question for you. What’s with the form for the DB laterals? I’ve never seen them like that. I know you guys “taught” HM how to do them right, is this an example of that?

I only ask because once I started getting into serious weight for laterals (like 45+) it turns into my traps receiving all of the work… which is also why I haven’t worked up much further than that. Is this a good way to make sure that doesn’t happen?

Mateus - no I’ve never done high pull of any kind, lol. I’ll check those out. And regarding your earlier Q about VCO… not sure how much to be honest. probably 5tbsp a day, give or take. Maybe more. I should probably check the literature and see if I’m getting the proper amount.

Skip - which set in particular? The seated ones are just “i’m tired and can’t get them up all the way that’s what she said” form, then the standing ones I got from the CT I3G vids with Prof X. Start with the meadows partials (usually I’d say I squeeze them a bit harder), then the second piece of that tri-set I’m doing something CT was doin. Same with 3rd. I Have used more conventional lateral form in the past.
