Well I guess that depends. If they pass out you can drag them back to your cave by their hair.

Too right. I have more plans for my new rack  Is that bad? I think Aerosmith had a song about it.

Isn’t the high volume stuff lovely? That’s what I did for a while after the meet and it kicked my ass.

I’m not one to judge. You built it, you should be able to do whatever you want with it.

Just one piece of advice to those who may be coming over to try out Ouro’s new home gym, take sanitary wipes.

High volume is my kryptonite. Big Jim was saying yesterday that I’m a game day player. I seem to struggle (Molly accuses me of sandbagging all the time) until the weight is really heavy and I just have to lift it once, then it seems to come up really easy. I can’t explain it.

you musta been just born for PL’ing…

we can’t hate, but appreciate!

word.

Your just jealous that you weren’t invited too!

Workout today lots of fun as always:

I foam rolled my legs a little bit. I wanted to cry, they hurt so bad from squats.

2 board Bench
5@130
5@135
10@145 This was kind of disapointing. I got to seven and Jim was adjusting the bar lower on my chest because I was getting too high. I guess this caused me to have a brain fart and I ended up taking the bar too low and almost lost the bar all together. Well when I finally got it under control I lost my groove and he had to steady the bar for the rest. Now I have to wait until next week to make up for 5 seconds of brain fart.

Pull ups with knee in band: 5x5
I have gotten noticeably better at these!

Incline db press:
20@40
12@40
13@35

Pulled sleds for 20 minutes with only 2 sprints this time!

Deadlift day: 5/22/09
Trap bar deadlift:
5@225 belt
5@240 belt
17@255 belt and wrist wraps as many as possible. (no that isn’t a typo. I was a trap deadlifting monster today.)

Barbell good mornings: 4x10@95, 95, 105, 115

Planks for 30 sec: 3@25lbs, 45lbs, 65lbs (a plate and a chain)

6 50 meter sprints

This was a great workout. My hamstrings are already sore! I will be hurting tomorrow.

Shut yer trap woman.

Seriously nice job.

17@255? Kickass!

Yep… she was a freaking monster today! She just kept pulling… I could hardly stand it! She totally stole my dead-tastic title today! =D

MMG

Thanks Ouro,Bobbi, and Molly! My hamstrings are STILL a wee bit sore from the whole experience.

I have been really busy with friends from out of town and school stuff. I finally got a break and would like to inform everyone that eating plain greek yogurt (tastes like sour cream) with a can of tuna mixed in may induce vomiting (or at least gagging). I was so busy that I haven’t had time to cook proper food. I just grabbed stuff out of my fridge that met my protein and fat needs and wound up with this concoction. I had to use a whole cup of greek yogurt, which is quite expensive, so I forced myself to eat it. It was a traumatic experience to say the least.

so was it the yogurt you had a problem with or the gagging?

I’ll stop there and let you imagine where I can go with that.

ew…your a brave soul…couldn’t you have just doubled up on the tuna or something?

OH SB! Why would you do that to yourself?!?! That sounds DREADFUL! I mean seriously, I would rather have you go under on your carb requirements than try that concoction again! BLECH! See you tonight!

I’m imagining… And laughing my ass off.

I needed the yougurt for the fat! I have to get in around 24g of fat with each meal. Usually it’s awesome because fat makes things taste delicious, not so much on this occasion.

5/3/1 Neutral grip pushpress: Tuesday, May 26th

Push press:
5@35lb dbs
5@40lb dbs
5@45lb dbs This was supposed to be a set of as many as possible, but I totally forgot that part, so I just did 5 like the other sets. I was a little sad that I had forgotten because I love me some push presses.

Push ups:4x8 with a 45lb plate on my back.
The last 2 reps of the last set I did without any weight because I died at 6.

Face pulls:
3x12@32.5
1x18x27.5

Molly joined me after my workout and we walked around the track for an hour.

I enjoy push presses as well. I think it’s because you can push up more weight and it’s more explosive.

So I just finished the part of M.S. with the weeks of clusters. How did you find them when you were doing the program? I think it was an interesting way to get in a lot of heavy volume. It’s almost like a way of sneaking up on weight.

I call these Cheerleader Presses. Check yourself out in the mirror next time you do them!

I really enjoyed the clusters for that same reason. It just made me feel stronger. Also because I hadn’t done anything like powerlifting at the time, it seemed like a good way to break into heavier weights without feeling overwhelmed. By this point in the program I also started putting on a crazy amount of muscle. I gained 10 lbs while being strict with precision nutrition and went down a pant size. I always loved it when people would say “you look like you have lost 20 lbs, how much weight have you lost?” I would smile and tell them I had gained 10 lbs. They would get this crazy look of confusion. From your log, it looks like you are experiencing the same type of weight gain.
