Want some advice? Good cuz you’re gonna get it: PUT SOME DAMN WEIGHT ON THE BAR! I can’t believe how easy your 3rd squat/deadlift were. Wow. Especially squat it just looked like you were warming up ![]()
I was pretty surprised how easy it felt. I haven’t figured out my maxes because I had been working so hard on form. Now that I have my form, I hope to get closer to my max at the next meet (August).
X3 with put weight on the bar. It’s a different feeling at a meet though isn’t it. Particularly for deadlift when it’s so adenaline driven.
Now I’m going to look at the videos again to see creepy guy.
Court, are you talking about M.K.?
I’m now glad we missed the deadlift portion of that meet Ouro!
Great videos. When the guy walked by the camera, I was thinking WTF?[/quote]
Thanks Rugger.
That guy was unsightly. It’s not too surprising but he was one of the people in the curling contest.

I meant the Hooker face competitors. I expect both of you to be competing in the next meet. But I am so glad you were both there to represent team Hooker Face.
CBear, may I call you CGrizzly? It sounds more like you. Bear is too sweet and innocent. I see you more as hardcore awesomeness. It can be CGrizzl if you want it to sound more pimp.

Thanks Ouro. It definitely was a good confidence builder and measurement of what I will be capable of for the next meet. I now think I could hit a 300 lb squat in August. That would be really cool.
I’m working towards a 200lb squat for my b-day in August as well, haha! Wanna trade? ![]()

How about this, you work toward 300 and I’m working toward 225 raw (belt only). Boy that sounds fucking sad but whatever
I’d be stoked to hit it at my weight.

You may call me CBear the Magnificent, CBear the Sexual Goddess, CBear the Beefstly, or CBear the Pious.
If CBear sounds too innocent, I’ll let it play a hand for my dry sarcasm. Grizzl sounds like the icky crap I cut off of my chicken before I eat it.
oh and btw. I was never asked to COMPETE in that meet. I was asked only to WATCH. Besides, overhead press wasn’t an event.

225 sounds awesome. Isn’t that almost 2x your body weight? I am still far away from that. Maybe I’ll lose weight, or maybe I’ll just keep trying to lift more weight. The latter sounds more fun.

You take over the world…does that mean everyone would have to wear singlets?
Since my meet is over and I won’t be competing again until August I decided that this would be the perfect time to do a hard core, short term cutting diet. Molly was kind enough to put together a plan for me.
Starting today, May 15th
5 meals (6 on training days)
Calories: appx. 2200
protein: 42 gr per meal
carbs: only green veggies and no more than 10 g per meal
pw meal: protein shake
After 2 weeks I get a cheat day.
I will also be adding in some sprints and low intensity cardio on top of 4 days of weight training.
I thought it would be best to figure out all the macro nutrients and weights for a few meals for the upcoming week so I would have everything on hand to cook. I like to cook, so last night I thought up a couple recipes that sounded tasty and met the requirements of the diet. I decided for simplicity that I would eat the same thing for lunches (2 meals a day) the whole week. My partner is doing the cut with me so it would be two meals a day for 2 people, which in the end comes out to be 20 meals that I would make all at once. So, me and my scale, and pots, and pans got to work. I was making a weeks worth of Chicken, zucchini, and feta mixture thingy.
Okay, so a couple of lessons I learned in the process:
-Just because the macro nutrients work out on paper, doesn’t mean it’s the proper ratio for cooking. I over estimated how much feta and olive oil would be good and ended up making chicken, zucchini cheese soup. I actually figured it was going to be interesting when I saw the amount of feta cheese I was having to use, but I had already spent so long calculating it that I refused to stop and recalculate the numbers.
-Don’t experiment with a recipe in bulk! So the above mistake would have been fine if I wasn’t using 6 lbs of organic, free range, chicken breasts and over a pound of local feta cheese. So I marched forward.
-Small kitchen scales are useless in situations like these. When I was finished I had almost 4.5kg of Chicken feta soup to weigh and calculate what each serving would be, but my stupid scale didn’t go up that high. I had to split it up, which just made a messy job even messier.
By the time I was done, I was angry, tired, and covered in melted feta. I believe I will stick to 2 or 3 days of lunches at once from now on.
Luckily the egg, hamburger, and spinach breakfast was much easier and surprisingly good.

You paint a vivid picture of chicken feta soup! Would have loved to have seen pictures of you in the kitchen with all this mess surrounding you, however it may not live up to the image I have in my head, so I’m sticking with that.
Thanks for the laugh! Makes my morning of calculating foreign exchange gains/losses much more enjoyable!
Enjoy your soup.

Your mental picture is probably quite close the real event. I briefly looked for the camera to take a picture of the wok overflowing with cheese, until I realized that I was leaving a feta trail.
Haha that sounds hilarious! I can just see you getting PISSED but being too stubborn to change anything! Maybe next time I can come over and do all the calculations for you? Seriously… I will be happy to! And don’t stress if your numbers are EXACT… as long as you consistently use those numbers then you will be fine, b/c when we drop your calories, you will be dropping them in accordance with the numbers you are using… so it will work b/c the point is you are DROPPING THEM… make sense?
Oh yeah… and Miss Sarah… what about cooking up a bunch of 5-6 oz burgers (5 oz would be good if you are going to add a piece of cheese b/c that adds about 7 grams of protein) and then having it with steamed veggies and a little olive oil? Or grill up several chicken breasts and smother them in avocado and make a ratatouille with the veggies (zucchini, broccoli, onions, peppers, olive oil, etc)? Or you can make giant salads with spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, avocado, slivered almonds or walnuts, hard boiled eggs, chicken, olive oil and vinegar dressing? =D Or you could make a quiche? With lots of veggies and topped with cheese?
You probably hate me right now for not suggesting these ideas earlier… sorry! =D
Let me know if you want more though! I have a zillion!

Oh you are definitely coming over to help me next time. We could cook and watch the Mike Robertson DVDs!
For the record, it wasn’t supposed to be chicken feta soup. It was supposed to be Chicken and Zucchini with a bit a feta mixed in. I just over estimated the feta. It would be like if I tried to make Chicken smeared with avocado, but over estimated the avocado so that I had avocado soup with chicken. Those recipes do sound good though. When you come over maybe we can figure out the macros for those so I can make them without having to do the damn calculations.

Update, it is pretty good, but way too complicated to make ever again. I’m stubborn, but not that stubborn. I’ll probably be so tired of it by the end of the week that i will never want to eat it again anyway.
