Tell me all! I’m excited since I’m going to watch another meet this weekend. It’s a high and I’m not even competing. RuggerLife will be going for a 500kg squat (raw) if he’s not nice to me. Shhhh…
So here goes…Although my posting of training info sucks, I have been training regularly.
Squat depth is definitely getting WAY better. I figured out that I need to do extra stretching on squat days. I’m borrowing a pair of olympic shoes which seems to help me quite a bit too.
My deadlift completely improved a couple nights ago as well. I was setting the bar up on my shins instead of in the middle of my shoe laces. So my shoulders were way infront of the bar and my legs were in the way when I pulled. When I moved the bar out to the middle of my laces the weight felt easier and my form improved!
I’ll be using just a belt and a HOT singlet. I haven’t used knee wraps before. Maybe I’ll try them for the next meet.
I’m getting super excited for the whole thing, especially after watching the meet this weekend.
Glad to hear about the squats, cuz your video from the other week was pretty high. Are you still doing the Max Strength rolling and mobility before you training? If I don’t do that and in particular the squat-stands and some of the walking lunges/spidermans/etc before I start warming up, my depth is shite.
Knee wraps are fun when you wrap yourself. They lick monster balls when someone wraps them tightly for you (ie they hurt). It’s probably a good thing you’re not using them now though because I know it brought my squat a bit higher when I first started using them because of the rebound/tension I got when I neared depth.
I’m looking forward to my next meet and my attire. I’m a loser like that. I’ll be so coordinated it won’t even be funny. Pink powerlifting ftw!
After Max Strength I started only doing half the warm-ups. That was a stupid idea. I am going back to doing the whole list of them plus a couple new ones from magnificent mobility. I think you are right, it will help a lot with depth.
Are you getting a pink suit too? That would be so awesome. I asked Susie (the designer of our shirts/figure competitor outfit designer) to sequenze (sp?) my singlet. I thought it might throw off the judges so they wouldn’t look so closely at my depth![/quote]

Bench: Pink belt holding down my shirt - may need to get some pink socks - singlet is black, shirt is black, shoes are black, wrist wraps are blue/black
Dead: Pink shirt, pink belt, pink chucks - singlet and socks are black.
I’m going to look sexy. Not sure how I’m going to keep all the guys away from me hahaha.
