BS or Bad Ass

I was looking at a Forum on Runner’s World that was discussing lifting. One guy posted this workout. Myself and other claimed bullshit, but he came back saying it’s true. Do you guys think this is physically possible (1 set, 30 reps of 305lbs. on the bench? If so would it have to be a national/world class level strogman competitor or what other level of athlete? I’ve seen some fair size guys in the gym, but nobody that could come close to most of this.

Following is his response to a post asking what type of weight workout do you do:

Tue., Thur., Sat. Unfortunately, I’ve had to cut my squat weight in half to not get too huge and avoid stress injuries in my feet between lifting heavy and running.

Bench: 305 lbs. 1 x 30
Curl: 200 lbs. 1 x 30
Shoulder Press: 175 lbs. 1 x 30
Row: 225 lbs. 1 x 30
Lat Pull: 185 lbs. 1 x 30
Chest Fly: 255 lbs. 1 x 30
Squat: 320 lbs. 1 x 30
Calf Raise: 320 lbs. 1 x 30
Leg Extension: 170 lbs. 1 x 30
Leg Curl: 170 lbs. 1 x 30
Hip Abduction: 155 lbs. 1 x 50
Hip Adduction: 155 lbs. 1 x 50
Ab Crunch: 125 lbs. 1 x 100
Lower Back Ext: 170 lbs. 1 x 100
Obliques Mach.: 125 1 x 50 each side

complete horseshit. A runner is benching 305 for 30 reps?? Hell anyone benching 305 for 30 reps is nuts.

not too mention the curling 200lbs for 30 reps.

If those numbers were true why isn’t he powerlifting instead of running.

I could believe it if it was a guy who could bench 450lb and did some cluster/breathing set of 305lbs for 30… But a runner?

A skinny arse, runners world, treadmill joggin’, machine usin’, resistance trainin’, endurance lovin’, mother-fuckin’, runner?

Nope.

My arse!

Joe

I think those are machine weight numbers.

If that’s true, it doesn’t mean he’s a liar, just a dumbass.

who cares…i would worry about what you can do; and not what others claim they can do…

No one can curl 200lbs for 30 reps. No one in the world. Crossfit.com even got a weightlifter who can Clean well over 400 to try and do 20 reps of 225 for cleans without putting the bar down and he couldn’t do it.

And if this guy can curl 200lbs for 30 reps and he is the world’s strongest man, then why is he doing less weight on the shoulder press?

Just for shits, Ryan Kenneldy did 315 for 40 reps at the Arnold. He’s the greatest bencher on the planet. Justin Harris could only do 315 for 29 reps. He’s a 275lb bodybuilder turned powerlifter.

Chest Flys with 225? Is he adding the dumbbell weight together or using a Pec-Deck? If that’s the Pec-Deck weight, I’ve seen a bodybuilder on YouTube who uses the screenname bskola do 225 for like 15 reps. This guy has also done a 405X20 Box Squat and 135 X 150 rep Squat. He is defiantly not a runner.

And anyone whose that super-strong would not follow a routine that includes the Hip Abduction machine.

And why would someone who can Bench 305 for 30 reps only use 185lbs on the Lat-Pulldown?

If this guy exists, he’s not only the worlds strongest man but he’s got some serious muscle imbalances.

What Joe said…My arse! lol

How many reps did phil heath do with 225 at the olympia. 40 or something, and we are talking about a conditioned, most likely heavily “supplemented” if you catch my drift, world class bodybuilder who does nothing but train. Definitely not a runner…

Maybe the guy can do 20 reps of 1000lb deads on a bosuball rolling down a hill while catching up to his runner friends…idk…

Gerdy

Just as I thought. The guy said he ran some, but very slow.

Maybe he’s Sasquatch.

Tell him he has his decimal point in the wrong spot.

DANGIT! it all makes sense now…why didn’t I think of this…thanks for clearing it up FS…LOL

Gerdy

It’s very possible. Berardi does marathon’s all the time. /sarcasm

Ask him to post videos.

This does not look like sasquatch…lol jk…that was a good joke still can’t get over it.

Gerdy

It said on Kazmeiers’ website he could curl 315 for 15 reps, possibly a power curl, I dont remember.
It probably is a machine, I knew a kid that could machine bench 300 lbs in sixth grade(he was actually pretty jacked for a sixth grader), but I would lift with him in High School and he could do like 250. That is 3+ years later and like 40+ lbs heavier.

A marathon with 1.5 legs? Check the picture! Now that guy can HOP!

Those numbers, whether machine or free-weight are complete BS.

No one able to do that would have anything to do with Runner’s World or whatever site that was on.

He just figured there’d be no one who knew any better but got caught with his pants down.

For an italian JB isn’t very hairy. (gross generalization of italians there BTW)

Also, why would you even think to believe anything some dick basket (WTF?) wrote on the internet?

I bet he does 1 set of 30 crying sobs daily because he’s growing a vagina.

well if you believe that…then you probably believe strippers are into you and trying to take you home when you go to a strip club too

Squat: 320 lbs. 1 x 30

320*2=640 lbs. For 30 reps.

But that would have made him too huge. The problems some poor bastards have to face…

Maybe he had to cut his speed in half so that he didn’t get too shredded.
