I’m having the beginnings to mid full force signs of work burn out at my job. Its been about 9 month being the snazzy supervisor that I am and its getting better in the fact that all the new people I was given to train and work with have gotten much better, but the cumulative stress of managing the hospital in the capacity that I do–ICU, pharmacy, misc things–adds up. Also its the busy season so there’s that. Also they keep wanting to and more responsibility…so there’s that…also I have no real vacations of events I can have to be looking forward too…there’s that.
Typical stuff. But my point is I’m going to try to train more on my work days to perk me up so the dred of the onslaught of labor isn’t so bad. Also as a single lady taking care of herself and her big pooper the day to day shit I alone must do adds up. I’m not complaining …I think you get the idea though. SO the pull ups
I did not film the back squats but hey felt pretty good Again, I won’t do them for probably another while but its good to feel the wt in my back again.
Why yes Kristof!!! Nigel Thaddeus is doing splendidly. He is even better in the summer since he gets hot and lazy. He’s working on it but still only has one friend besides me and continues hi s role as supreme Foo over his Brute.

I write to Harry Selkow at elitefts.com every week and report with what I did and he tells me what’s up next. I pretty much am on a pattern of adding a rep each week. This week I did a total of 66. I bet when I write him next he will assign me 7 sets of 7, 3 sets of six for next week. You should write him!!! Just go to the q and a section !!

Sorry to randomly intrude out of nowhere, but I saw this and had to say something. Assuming you didn’t invent your own unit of measure and those numbers do in fact represent pounds, your deadlift and squat weights are like… really, really good. Holy cow.

yesterday I was too freaking sore and no go to lift anything. I think it was the ssb wide ass gm’s.
I tried some fronties but stopped because it was pointless. I did however do my pull up assignment–way to early in the week–but I was so frantic and bored after not being able to lift. they were ugly but I got the pull ups.
8 sets of 7, 2 sets of 6. I now will happily wait another week and three days to do more pull ups.
Fronties --getting used to the clean grip. messed with placing my hands less on top of my freaking shouldercaps like I was doing. I put em just aside of my shoulder all snug and close now and its better–less bruising banana feel when I hold the wt on my tender flesh!!

I tried out the zercher contraption harness as well. 225x3 x 2 sets–anderson style zercher harness squats
I also tried frontie box squats. I was too tired, messed with one thirty five for a few sets of 8
I tried…and failed mutiple times to get the hook up right to work on some zercher style deads with the harness. I am too tall, the thing is way awkward and needs a longer connection to get to the bar. But it was interesting to try zercher rack pull type stuff. A hard thing and defiantly have to be careful not to pull too much lower back. I will try them again next week with low low wt.

ALSO I am proud because it was a rep pr that I wanted for a few weeks with 200. EVERY stinking pound counts on these freaking fronties. I add five pounds and suddenly its seven times the wt and it impossible to move.
FUN IS AWESOME!! Go to an amusement park? Buy a Wii? Play scrabble on facebook??? DO random shit. Typically random shit is wayyyy more fun than the routine of life. Routines make life stable, yes, but also dull and un eventful. One small break in a routine can often result in fun.
Congratulations on that rep PR for front squats, AND for working on your clean grip. nod Ha, so it’s funny how you wrap up your workout by ‘messing with a few sets of one thirty five for 8’. There are not a few people (grown men, I should clarify) who can’t do that at all, much less after everything else you did that day.
So on the pullups, I’m just doing fifty on both upper body days. 5x10 usually, or a few sets with more reps if I’m feeling saucy. Your willingness to happily wait a week and three days to do your next pullup party made me laugh. grin
Here’s my unsolicited clean grip advice for front squats (feel free to ignore it):
I find that if I move my hands a leeetle bit wider out than snug against my shoulders it’s easier for me. It’s not necessary to have all fingers on the bar, or really much more than the tips of your fingers. Also, zombie arms*. nod
I’m proud of you for putting your video to music too. Always a pleasure to watch you in action.
*Zombie Arms: Hold your arms out like a zombie. Now pretend there are delicious, delicious brains in front of you. But!! Your body is held immobile, except your arms. Those dead arms of yours can push forward towards the grey matter you crave. As a happy side effect the pocket the bar rests on in clean grip front squats is a little larger and more stable.
