Well I am still a bit of a sketched out fool for lifting. I didn’t deadlift monday…I just slept until its time for work. I didn’t front squat tuesday…I just slept in until work. Moss and me are a totally off on our walks but … I’ve realized after some cumulative weeks of very very low mileage that I need to walk for my back to not feel like crap from just daily life. There’s not a choice in the matter. I come to terms with this today.

Life is easier for me when I have no other options which I am sure for many it is as well.
I think of my pull ups this way. Whenever I just don’t feel like doing anything, and during the 6 weeks I did no lifting at all last year, I know I MUST do my pull ups or I will lose them. Its not an option! I worked so hard to be able to do them! As long as humanly possible, I will do pull ups. No option! Front squats are similar that way when I stop I loose them fast both strength and endurance-wise.

SO here’s yesterday’s pull ups
2 sets of 11, 3 sets of 10, 3 sets of 9, misc sets of 5 to 7 or a total of around 100

Today I did lift, and today me N Mossi did a five miler’ walk. We had serious issues on our walks that readed peak point the last two weeks–he would just refuse to walk and lay down on the trail which drives me from zero to 60 in rage!

I’d try to pull him forward, and either I’d succeed for a short period or he’d yip and moan and scream like a huge baby and make me feel like everyone within earshot would think I was beating him! I lose my temper when he won’t walk!!! I GET SO ANGRY!!!

Or I would snap him out of his stop mode by running a it to get him excited and he’d be ok for a time then no. It seems the first 15 minutes are the kicker, if we could get that past 15 mins, once that period was over of stopping and refusing, he’d be fine and walk great but…getting there…ugh…mrgh so frustrating. Zero to 60 is my fuse for stopping!!!

Turns out he’s just bored. I tried a new route and he was all smiles, no stopping, just a great walker by my side with no issues. He was bored. Ok so new routes.

I am going to try em out tomorrow! I am not sure if I have clips that will work with them, I didn’t want to spend the extra $30 for the clips Rogue had for them and I know they need a certain size but I might be able to make it work with the ones I have. Either way I will just carry them empty if I can’t figure out the clips friday.

I also have seemed to have made it past my own 15 minute point for being bummed over cutting out that relationship from my life. I truly don’t miss it…at all a week later. I don’t feel like its going to be a passing feeling either. I don’t feel like I’m missing out on any great or even little benefits. DONEZO.

Today another successful long walk and a new schedule for lifting I think has been decided. I forgot how much Zerchers also help me. I hadn’t done them in weeks because I was too fatigued or whatever, but I think I need them. So I am making a zercher /carry day.

Low Anderson Zerchers 135x13x3 sets I would like to try zercher deadlifts…but really don’t know if I can swing it and I am afraid as well.

farmers walk with handles only ( total of 49 pounds ) for no real idea distance

Where I walked is a large football field/2 baseball diamond park thing I walked around twice. Noticed straight off how much trap is used. Fine with that! Also picked up my old iron plates from my moms, so a lil extra lifting of 45# per hand up three flights of stairs to my apartment. I feel lazy so I have to count everything apparently. :{

I like the Twins! They are easy to hold too and less painful than the diamond plated type grippy t bar stuff, smooth and nice so far.
The clips I have do not work for them but I am going to McGuiver them somehow… I guess I am going to try for distance for a while as I get used to them again. I can use less wt and hopefully figure out a clip solution in the mean time. Less heavy plates I predict will be easier to manage keeping on with whatever clip setup I can figure out.

I’d try the dead lift version just for funzies, also though I know they are strongman type training thing–stones and that kidna idea I think. I also have learned Zercher lunges are an idea to try too!

God I love zerchers–I used to hate them before I gave them a chance too. They make you feel so fatigued afterward in a hardy, plowed the field, clean way! Just gotta be careful of my elbows, but for sure they work your lats, abs, butt, hammies. Put some hair on my chest type stuff!

farmers walks with 225 total x not sure how far. Multiple stops, but a decent total distance. I am figuring out the lil stutter steps as well.

I am a bit proud of my enginuity. Not sure how long it’ll last or tolerate more wt but since my clips don’t work on The Twins, I tied up stuff with dog leashes to keep the plates in place-- it worked! I just need to get some real rope and a few decent sailors knots, I think I can manage without the $60 a pair Rogue clips for the handles. We’ll see!

I like the handles! I feel it much more in lats compared to t-bar stuff which I felt mostly in my butt and legs. I miss the t bar a bit but my hands definitely like the handles more. The diamond plate stuff on the t bar is not kinda after a while. I will mix it up for carries but its wonderful being able to be alone and not have to deal with the hassle at my gym form the lamers. A park with a field by my house worked great for a place to trudge around in.

A bit of a Dear Diary moment: I got asked by a friend a bit offhandedly–but still I believe seriously-if I would consider dating him. Totally out of the blue.

WORD!!! I accept any and all compliments-- flattery too! My God, I learned to take whatever lil happy stuff is offered to me and promptly clutch it to my chest! I wear this lil positive thought like a scarf around my neck!

did some more walking this weekend with Mossimo. It feels so wonderful with walking by his side! Super lucky to have such a cool dog.

Anyho, today I wanted to also get some upper back in at the gym. Its a saturday. What a mistake. :frowning: I did rows and stuff. To a point,

Its becoming a big problem for me-- the atmosphere there. Or I am letting it get to me. Saturdays I typically avoid the building since its going to be packed and its going to be packed with meatheads and figure/physique chicks wearing corsets on the stair mill and annoying dudes of ALL ages jacked up on testosterone and pre-work out hooting and hollering. I gotta pull myself together.

I seriously hate when its crammed with them. I do admit I feel judgemental, but the degree of vanity, self centeredness, and conceit, all fueled on people who haven’t had carbs in 5 years and its a recipe for pissing me off and feeling gross. I can just see it in their eyes the madness! It used to make me feel bad for them but not anymore. You should see them talking, they just talk over each other’s sentences, not listening just blurting out stupid shit talking at the other person!!

!!! Not my thing at all! All the giant hummers, souped out stupid cars outside just read DOUCHE so hard…the tans…the bad tattoos, how they all look the same with the same bad taste in the same bright colored clothes…I gotta chill out man.

Also what is super annoying is the still haven’t fixed the ghr!!! Today was a giant fail as I’m doing it and the entire back part your feet go in goes totally sliding out of place and lopsided. I got so pissed I just left. I don’t even want to talk to the owner about fixing things since I don’t like him. Its close those, that gym is less than a mile away. Just need to go avoid high velocity douche times.

So…you, Moss, and ‘the twins’ walking around in Wheat ridge. I’m guessing you do not get bothered much?

And the gym sounds like a real treat! Just south of 44th and Kipling is it?? Just wondering, I go by Drum City/Guitar Land now the then, over in that area.

I train at the Wash Park rec center. Not your hood, but some centers are better than others. Might be worth a look, if you haven’t already.

To your gym story, I did hear a conversation about the cost of various elements of ‘workout’ gear at my gym. Two 20-ish guys, comparing shoes/clothes ect…I listened closely, as I admired the fit of my Nike DryFit zippered polo,2$ at GoodWill, in the mirror.
Trust me, it’s much neater than it sounds.

Looks like the twins are doing well. Did you give them formal names? Or just the twins. Sounds like your gym is a bit of a drag on the weekends, that is too bad. Hopefully walking the puppy makes the day better. Congrats on the dating prospect.
