Glad you’re making progress with Nigel. I have a friend that rescued a pitbull, and he’s just a doll now.
thanks kristof–He’s getting better every day
cal, kimba, and patch–OH PATCH that looks like my Nigel ALOT
…strange new leaf turning in my life. I was unaware of this dog zen about how i didn’t get the dog i wanted i got the dog i needed. MY POOPER
I feel like I’m changing and its hard but–today at least its leading good places
Training has been sporadic but good enough for me for now. My back is feeling superb which make me happy. I wasn’t flaring up, but it feels nice with the rest. lots of walking LOTTTTTTTTS of walking.
here’s sat’s stuff
front squats 135x21, 145x10, 155x6
last night/today
dl’s 225x34
gms 115x18
for my O. …I amattached t this wt ofdl’s lately. FIXATED. Have a slight mind fuck going on with heaviers wts since i am munching for high reps …and i get myself into trouble when i force those heavier high reps.
I haven’t benched in about a month too …oh…well Its been about that for regular squats too, if not longer. I’m on happy therapy workout mode where i am just going for what makes me happy.
Wow, you should have a go at Molly’s deadlift challenge.
thanks Cal!
I don’t know how fast i could go. i’m not a speedy one :{ so anything for time would be hard.
today
benched for the first time in a month i guess
115x5,120x5, 125x3, 130
clean to push press 89#x10,x9,x7,x6,x5 then clean to push press down to overhead x5
speeeeeeed walkin with nigel for an hour
Gosh, Brutus. I didn’t realize you were going through such a hard time. I feel for you. Went through something similar with a dog 13 years ago. It stayed with me for a long time.
yay for happy therapy workouts and yay for progress with nigel, too
you are a deadlift machine!
thanks alexus yep…lot sf speed walking in my future! ! which is great! I haven’t done it in years but have always liked it. a thousand years ago I was a 6 mile a day runner, then later a 7 mile a day speed walker queen. It was all i could do being in the situation I was in.
i stopped for various reasons…and i never really went back because it takes up sooo much damm time. With Nigel I really have no choice and it works out good for both of us:) Its so hot though…I hope to add a mile every week, so far we are only on 4 a day…and we’ve only done it for a lil while. Its very zen . OH and i get to wear my wt’d vest I hope i can drop some wt doing it since i can’t stomach gym cardio lately.
hey SNAP! yeah…its getting alot better though! My problem …i hate to say it was putting myself first before him. I would limit his exercise–we’d get abotu 30mins in but not enough for him-- based on what works out best for ME and what i want to do in the gym, or how tired i was from work. but it never really worked out and I’d only come home to a terror of confused frustrated animal who wouldn’t let me sleep or be at peace. Since we’ve been walking alot we’ve become best of friends! Now i look forward to it!
who knows about my training:{ I’m trying to change shifts at work at its taking forever…i have no idea when its going to happen. in the mean time i can only focus on my pooper. as stupid as it sounds, but then again we’re all kinda control freaks in our own way and don’t want to fail…i have to master this damm dog!
also i need a break. so walking and misc rep magic days are all i have planned for the time being.
Much as I hate to admit it I’ve watched the Dog Whisperer in action and now that you mention it he does say on a regular basis that getting the dogs the exercise they need is often part of the solution.
I can’t help but smile at the swing towards positive in the tone of your posts lately. It also makes me laugh that you say “a thousand years ago”; I tell people the same thing when talking about things I did as a youngster.
Also, thanks for that DL video. It got me fired up for my last pulling session.
225x34 is insane! Glad you and Nigel are doing better.
so happy to hear that you have figured something out that is good for the both of you and that you can enjoy together.
thanks Kristof! and Alexus! oh we are total trail blazers now. its fantastic! however…my trainer (dog) has given me the task of teaching “heal” which is hard!:{ next week is the big test: Nigel gets touched by the trainer …i hope no blood is lost.
…but the idea of my own personal FooDog Guardian in the flesh is growing on me. The trainer mentioned potentially teaching Nigel how to apprehend… >:D
thank you Nadia i am a nerd.
only training done this week besides walks are the following
overheads 2 sets of one thirty for ten
dl’s 225x25. 245 x ten, 265
might have a new shift change in the coming weeks…OR a new job altogether in the day. its been a very very taxing week at work…busy beyond busy. lots of heaving, holding, man handling, parvo, asshole cats, emotionally draining, but also good successful hospital stays for denver’s sick animals.
today 5 mile walk with my beast
fronties one thirty five x twenty one
over heads one thirty five for sorta sixteen
example below . fast forward to near the end for that
every time i see you do your overhead squats i just shake my head `oh man’ you are pretty freaking strong! lolz at the way you call the set to a halt. that was some crazy repping.
think i’m going to need to get serious about training my overhead squats to help my squat jerking. baby weights for me though, baby weights :-/
Your overheads are phenomenal. Awesome stuff!
Hope some change with work comes sooner rather than later. Keep your chin up!
thank you alexus and Cal
…i feel bazaar. in one of the strange funks i get …and these are the few lifts i can mange to get myself to do. :{ bleh
hey My Betty I shall
today 5.1 miles with my hunny bug nigel
squatted for the first time in well over a month. maybe closer to 2 months?

Amazing!! Who does that?
Brute! That’s who. Hope the funk doesn’t last long. Ride it out, mama. Do what you gotta do to get through it.
Mucho <3,
Maschy
EEEEEEEEEEE MY MASCHY!! !! !! !! !! !! !!
thank you and that FINE ass
You’re getting some serious cardio in courtesy of Nigel. Fun though, not everyone gets to train with such a beast.
Your face at the end of that set of overheads is priceless. grin That squatting is pretty serious for such a long break too. RAAAWRR!!!
