i tried the glute ham raise setup, and it was awkward as all get out and kinda hurt my wrist a bit–i dunno what that’s all about. i’ve been having a weird left wrist from this 160 pound German Shepard we’ve had in ICU for the last month who is down in the hind. so i get to sling walk him. For some reason the angle i get under his belly pissed off my wrist after one attempt and now its just flaring up here and there.
I know i’m totally doing it all cockeyed too–the GHR’s. hmm. well i need to film it and see i guess. i felt it for sure, and now a couple hours later I am starting to feel it more–awesome! i just need to tinker to get the most out of it.
i did some other things too, nothing of real consequence.

PMPM: Do you see any benefits to wrist wraps other than helping eliminate wrist pain? Robb tried to get me to wear them a long time ago but I resisted.
i like my gloves! I can go without them, but I do prefer to wear em. My hands are just very susectable to being raw from lots of washing…i’ll look into the wraps though.

If you’ve seen me squat, you know I carry the bar pretty low on my back. Wrist wraps allow me to do that without pain, I literally cannot hold more than 300 lbs that low without wrist pain, and then there’s no way I could bench after squatting without wrist wraps.
So yeah, for me, it’s all about pain avoidance. I definitely don’t get any pop out of them, they just let me concentrate on the movement rather than pain.
You can use wrist wraps to cast your wrists to assist your grip while deadlifting, but I only do that for heavy DB rows as I’ve never lost a lift to grip.

its going to be a long haul, but i think just getting my hand positioning, just time doing it will get me familiar and then hopefully i can push forth. i’m still so foreign to the movement–compared to other things–and i am fairly suremy way of doing them although fairly successful is not by the book.
half the time i do different things each set when i bench, trying to tinker on purpose or just forgetfully and unintentionally. no set in stone format that i’ve found yet. i hope lots of practice will change this. for f$cks sake it has to!
