That sounds vaguely like a telephonic hemorrhoid. Great personal service though ![]()
Bunny, I’m timing my arrival between 8-8:30 since it looks like push/pull lifting starts at 9.
will there be any “fluffing” going on at this meet?? a much misunderstood but highly crucial part of the process.

Thanks Strick, I am gonna have fun with this, if nothing else.
Meat… all I gotta do and watch a couple of your videos, and that gets me pretty stoked. Especially that one of you gettin’ the PR on that Swiss ball thingy… lol!
Ouro, looking forward to seeing you and meeting everyone else tomorrow. Once I get the directions and the exact location I will be booking a hotel for Friday night. I feel sorry for the wife, gonna be cooped up with me the night before my first comp.
I am going in tomorrow and doing some light technique stuff on the bench.
In the meantime… OOOOHHHHhhhhmmmmm… serenity now. Yeah, right.
Hey, bunny, looks like you’ll come home with at least a silver medal. Just watch out for the power lifting groupies. They go after the medal winners and you have to beat them off with a stick ![]()

Isn’t that what the groupies are for? That’s what I tell them they should do for me when I compete. That and get snacks.

I think you’re a few days ahead of yourself, unless you’re all going somewhere on Thursday that I know nothing about…
As for hotel, well Belle River doesn’t have a whole lot. The location is somewhere in “downtown Belle River”. There are some slummy motels that women who have competed there before warned me against. I’m rooming in Windsor with one of the other lifters. It’s still about a 20-30min drive from there, but at least it’s a real hotel. I also considered staying in Chatham so I didn’t drive past Belle River and then backtrack to it. I wouldn’t hold out waiting for the map of the place either way. If you stay in Belle River, you’ll be within spitting distance, if you don’t, it shouldn’t be too hard to find once you get to BR.

Yeah yeah… heheheh… fluffin’, allllrighhhtt!
I seen that last night, looks like only 2 of us in my category. Thats ok, I just wanna learn, get some experience and have some fun. Then… a few beers.
On another note, I weighed myself this morning and hit exactly 275. I have lost 5-6 pounds in the last 10-12 days just eating clean. Interesting. Good to know I guess.
Hey Ouro/ Court/ Rugger… do any of you know the guys I am competing against? I wonder if they will throw the 125+ and the 125’s together for the comp, make it more interesting?

Huh. I thought that was a typical guy morning thing regardless. You have to plan it?
Bunny, I wish I was you. I can’t wait to hear your meet report!

The other guy in the 125kg class has the following lifts in the 2008 CPU lifter database:
(in kgs)
April 2008
Squat 200
Bench 187.5
Deadlift 240
February 2008
Squat 220
Bench 185
Deadlift 245
Double EDIT: The SHW benches in the low 200s and deadlifts about 220. ← These were for the guy in the 3 lift competition SHW. Sorry about that.

Can’t speak for the 125 lifter, but the SHW lifts for a club with mental and physical disabilities.

If you’re serious about wanting to tent, contact the meet director. I know he’s letting people pitch tents on his property.
I’m post whoring your log because my other posts haven’t shown up yet for me to just edit. The 125kg lifter was an M2 lifter in 2008, so 50-59 years old. His numbers have decreased over the past few years.
Also not sure where RL pulled the SHW numbers from… I didn’t see him in the lifter database and the only results I did find for him were on the OPA site from the Cambridge Open.

Seriously? Do you have the name of the club?

I made a mistake on the SHW numbers, when I flipped between screens I looked at the 3-lift competition, not the push/pull by mistake.
