He’s cool that way.

Can’t speak for the 125 lifter, but the SHW lifts for a club with mental and physical disabilities.
I know it is entirely inappropriate and immature, but I snickered at this…

Seriously? Do you have the name of the club?
Yep… K.W. (Kitchener/Waterloo) Grizzlies. They’re a pretty amazing group to watch. A bunch of them competed at a meet I watched back in March and to see how happy they were to get a lift was great.

Thanks. I’d love to have my son participate in something like that a few years in the future.

Hey Ouro/ Court/ Rugger… do any of you know the guys I am competing against? I wonder if they will throw the 125+ and the 125’s together for the comp, make it more interesting?

The other guy in the 125kg class has the following lifts in the 2008 CPU lifter database:
(in kgs)
April 2008
Squat 200
Bench 187.5
Deadlift 240

February 2008
Squat 220
Bench 185
Deadlift 245

EDIT: The SHW benches in the low 200s and deadlifts about 220.

is the gravitational pull stronger in Canadianland?? those numbers seem loooowwww.

They do, don’t they?

tsk tsk- Shame, shame. (shaking finger in the air). Pete, you will be ok. The first step is admitting…

So… I have posted a few things, but nothing seems to be showing up. I am gonna head into the gym about 30 minutes from my house (never been in this one before, brand new) and put my cuz through the paces and practice bench set up and words of command.

In a strange gym, new/ different equipment… should get my mind thinking and take me out of my “comfort level” so Saturday will not be a shock. Makes sense to me… or am I being silly?

No more than 95lbs on that bar when practicing commands.

Bunnydude-- GOOD LUCK!!! Have fun!

it’s like Prom night and bunny has his nice pretty gown pushed up over his head in the back seat of the car of the captain of the football team.

yeah… just like that.

Does bunny’s crosage match the mantard?

you guys are killin’ me. I am gonna go get some “manscaping” done… no more carpet, just hardwood! lol!

Just back from the gym, put cuz through his session and did some practicing bench… maxed out at 135 for a few, had my cuz do the words of command at different tempos.

Did one set of incline bench at 135 touch and go, just to stretch out the right delt/ pec tie in, cramping up on me.

Pretty funny though at this new gym. A few guys lookin’ at me strange when I stopped at 135 and did not go any heavier. They had these smirks on their faces like they thought that was the heaviest I could go or something. I am definitely going back there for a session after this event… and I am going to use every freakin’ plate in there for 20 sets of deadlifts just to piss 'em off.

Maybe it was because I was screamin’ “Light weight baaaabey! Nothin’ but a peanut!” and snortin’ amonia before each lift… think?

What should I bring for food/ snacks during the competition? Any secret squirrel stuff? anything I should avoid… like triple beef and bean burritos?
bunny7568 wrote:

I always bring a ton of stuff and then only end up eating the bananas and peanut butter sandwiches because my stomach is in knots. Some people swear by greasy food before lifting. Just ask Dianab. That’s her tradition.

Lots of carbs are good.

Meat might disagree and yell at me, but I find besides a shake right after weigh ins I avoid protein. I stick to carbs…stuff to fuel me and make me happy. Plus sugar to keep me going after my post-bench crash pre-deads. PB sandwiches, fruit, and sugar.

I’ll let you in on some cupcakes when I get there around 9. I’ll also have peanut m&m’s but I don’t share those with anyone. Even reach for the bag and you’ll be doing 1 arm deadlifts

You may be experiencing some pms ugliness but I wouldn’t go so far as to call you a bag. Don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re beautiful on the inside  (smiley face)
