You ladies are too damn funny… I can just imagine the two of you at a meet mooning each other in the middle of each other’s lifts or something…lol!

KMC- Yeah, I screwed up that deload pretty good eh?! lol! Oh well… live and learn.
We did not have water when I was a kid. We had beer… made my cheerios taste funny, lol! So, I will have to get you a beer… or 10!.

Court- No hijack worries, I feel almost voyeuristic reading the conversations, lol!
I have not decided at this point if I am going to do the Belle River, and if I do, it will probably be the Push/ Pull, as that is what I am currently training for (meet in August).

Ouro- If I do attend the meet in Belle River, I have a buddy who said that he would come to watch… but he has no idea about powerlifting events, kind of like me.

The event in BC that I am attending, this is also a mini-vacation while I am out there, and my wife will be there… maybe a couple of friends that are competing in other events (track/ golf/ hockey etc.), but again, nobody with experience in this type of event. I will be on my own.

Just knee sox? Cool. That makes things much easier then.

From what I hear though, everyone is real helpful… and it is usually not to hard to find someone to give you hand. I will be lifting raw, so the equipment will not be an issue… right?

This is why I wanted to get one event under my belt, just to get rid of the jitters and see what it is all about.

But… now I see that if I get equipment, I will need a “handler”, hmmmm… this puts a different view on things…

Even if you decide not to compete at Belle River, it would be good just to watch a meet before you compete to get a feel for it; the pace, the commands and whatnot.

It certainly helps to have someone with you when you’re wearing gear. For me, the squat suit isn’t an issue but someone definitely needs to get me in my shirt and get it seated, jacked down and belted. In fact, it was one of the T-Nation guys that ended up with his hands up the legs of my singlet seating my shirt at the Niagara Open. We’re super close now. For a first meet, it isn’t a bad idea to do it raw rather than having to worry about 5 million things at once.

NeelyDan once received a 33 game suspension for punching a referee in the face and trapping him in the penalty box using a busted stick as a makeshift lock when playing against belle river.

Just sayin.

It’s a beautiful thing man, you have got a great start, keep up the great work!

gee, now I wish i was canadian. except for the whole “living in Canada” thing.

Are you kidding? That’s the best part of it. We can wear toques with impunity.

just jivin, i love it up there. I used to have a customer in Toronto and I asked him what boxing day was. he said its the day that all canadians sit on emptly molson’s boxes watching the Canadian jr hockey team beat the shit out of the american jr hockey team. Best explaination yet!

i was up in canada summer before last on a bike trip with a buddy of mine. we got caught on some big ass highway. people were driving like a bat out of hell and the road signs had to have been 25 miles apart. to make matters worse, you all use that damn metric system. i had no idea how fast i was going since my red, white and blue harley on has MPH in the speedo.

the people were really nice but crazy at the same time:)

and… i stopped at a McDonald’s and it was twice as much as it is down here. i would starve to death up there.

Plus our portion sizes are smaller… whenever I go to the US I have to remember to order a “small” of everything because it’s actually a medium.

Work on the coffee thing? Bite me. Timmy’s rocks.

Toronto’s transit is good though isn’t it?

Ok Bunny. I am jealous, and it has nothing to do with crazy #s you put up.

Let’s just say I am considering the Belle River. Keep pulling the rabbit[pun intended] out of your…

I knew it. I keep saying Timmy’s is the best. You just confirmed it for me. I love being right

Timmy’s sure is good. I was in Calgary for a few weeks last year so I had my fill.

Court, if you think portion sizes are small over there in Canada, try France. After being there for about 8 months, my first day back in the U.S, I stopped at McD, Dunkin, and Popeyes(they sell chicken here, not supplements) all in the 2.5hr drive btw Philly and D.C.

Not that I was a fast food junkie, just missed them so much.

Im an esspresso guy,
starbucks and timmys meh not my thing.

NYC 50cent street coffee FTW.
actually the only thing I liked about Minesota
was Caribou coffee.

and MS.O I might bite you, but timmy’s wasnt that good.

and thanks for letting us Hijack Bunny while your at work.

FF glad to see you.

The hijack continues…

KMC - I am sure you’ll enjoy the State fair here in Minnesota. Just come in late summer.

We got something good other than coffee.

P.S. I thought the Knicks were bad when I lived in NY, can’t stand the Wolves. Oh well!

Minesota is interesting- well mineapolis is

trannies skyways, and target And prince playing a block party.

the State Fair is HUGE their I had missed it.
kmc

Holy crap! Looks like I missed a party on my thread while I was at work… damn!

OUROBORO- I think that is a good idea with regards to watching the meet (any meet) if I decide not to throw my hat in the ring… and I have to agree… coffee from the dead hockey player rules!!
(I do like a shot of esspresso first thing in the morning or just before I train though)

NEELYDAN- Holy $#@!.. that would have been epic to see! I can remember my father playing in a men’s league when I was a very young kid, and some really good brawls happened at some of these games, including between the refs! If this stuff was to happen today though…

MUSCLEGYM- Thanks for stoppin’ by and the vote of confidence… is that you in your avatar? If it is, shit dude, your ripped! Nice!

MJ- Your Boxing Day story… too funny… but also… very true. And living in Canada is not bad… the healthcare system is pretty good, still need to iron out some kinks though. But our judicial system is a joke. Some of the worst, most sickening crimes imaginable… slaps on the wrist… and repeat offenders, still, the punitive system has no teeth. Needa a complete overhaul. Our judges/ justices are appointed by the government, not elected… and cannot be fired. Well, they can be fored, but it takes an act of parliament and about 10 years.

MEAT- Come up to Canada again brother, let me know! I will make sure you are fed… my bride puts out a huge spread, and I know some good places, with cold beer! The metric system screws up alot of Americans up here… but the police are usually very tolerant when it comes to these things… unless it is something really flagrant.

I love going to the States and their restaurants… never leave hungry, that is for sure!

KMC- Yeah, the Toronto transit system is pretty good, again, they are working out some kinks. They are putting in a speed rail system from the airport to Union Train station/ subway downtown as well, so this will help amazingly. They are also extending the subway system… this too will help.

FORMFUNCTION- Thanks bud! I will keep pulling my rabbit… good for the grip and it put 1/4 inch on my forearms, lol!
I did the same as you when I returned form the Middle East after 10 months… within an hour I hit Tim Horton’s (coffee and Boston Cream donut x2)… Mcdonalds- Big Mac, double 1/4 pounder with cheese, fries and a shake and finally KFC for some chicken and poutine. Needless to say… about 30 minutes after that, I was a little ill.
