Decided to have some fun today because someone was using the rack I like for my Rack Chins…new gym has lat pulldown stations and cable row stations up to 300 lbs. Decided to see if I could max them first try…and I did, easily. lol
HS BTN Shoulder Press : 285 x 8, drop 225 x to failure
Seated DB Lateral Raise : 55s x 10, drop 40s x 10, drop 30s x 10
*My shoulders were so pumped, they looked wide as fuck - looked like I could have set a cup on my lateral head, good shit.
Flat Bar Wide-grip Pulldown : 300 x 10, drop 225 x 10
V-grip Cable Row : 300 x 9, drop 225 x 10
HS Shrug : 6pps x 16
Edit: This was actually the most ridiculous back pump I’ve had in a very long time, felt good.
only PRd on military and pressdowns, but i havnt done the other shit in 2 weeks. Expecting 335x5 on HS and 85x10 on PJRs next week. Hoping lesser weight more reps on military will get my bench up that last 10 lbs so i can nail 3 plates
I also do militaries as strict as I can. Absolutely no leg drive[/quote]
The leverages on our HS shoulder press machines must be quite a bit different. I’m only getting 285x8 right now and I’ve had people come up and tell me that’s some impressive weight…what kind of #s are you getting with a DB shoulder press if you know?

It’s really funny how so many HS machines have different leverages. I would expect them to make them standard but I guess not. If it matters I can hit 270 x 7 on behind the neck press and 360 for the same amount of reps on the regular front shoulder press.

Havn’t DB shoulder pressed in a long time. I think I stopped around 70 or 80s for reps, but that was months ago.
I’m probably good for 365 for a single on that hammer strength machine.
Stuntman, the Urban Active by me was the expensive one I didn’t like. They won’t stop calling me either. 40 minutes? I’ll pass. 25-30 is going to bad enough. lol
red04, checked out one powerhouse but I didn’t really like it. There’s another one I haven’t checked out though. I feel like I’ve heard good things though.
I learned something pretty valuable tonight. I’m very impatient
Sumo deadlift
385x1…same as last week and the week before, but it went up much faster. Got suck halfway up on the second rep. Gonna drop down to 345 or so and do more reps. I’m making the same mistakes as before like maxing out every week when I hurt my back and couldn;t deadlift or squat for months
wide box squat
245x4…two more reps than last time but four less than my best
leg ext
170x20…PR ten more pounds than last time
I still want to get a 405 deadlift by 8/31, but after that I’m sticking with reps in the 6-8 range. It’s a lot easier for me to progress that way. Although I didn;t exactly get what I wanted today, I still learned a lot.

I know the reps seem too high on the workset, but I have alot of trouble doing low reps on rack pulls. Anytime I drop below an 8RM or so I can’t get the first rep off the pins. Has anyone else had this problem?

Just increase the weight on your rack pulls by, say, 22lb every time you do them and eventually you will reach the point where you are lifting a much heavier weight around the 5 rep mark
Rack Pulls: 505x10 (gonna chalk this jump up to the fact that it was only my 2nd time ever doing them)
Lat Pulls: 204x10(a lot cleaner than last week, probably move up to 216 next time)
One Arm Machine Rows(my replacement for krocs being limited by DBs) 108x15 each, gotta get used to the slight variation in movement, I think these will work fine though.

Great bicep day. Hit 165 for 5 However like last week form and contraction were my primary goals and that was definitly a big PR today. Did the 95 s for ten on the pin wheels which was another pr. Did 77.5 on hs machine curls for 5 another pr and 65 x ten on concentration curls.

Nice work, arms looking big in the photo too. LOL its funny seeing my BOI brothers in my Facebook updates
