Brotherhood of Iron 2.0

I love that Trapt song, have listened to it many times before doing a heavy set.

So I fucking knew I was feeling good this week lifting wise and expected a good weigh in. As usual Wednesday morning is weigh in and I’m happy to say I hit 210. =)

Just so no one asks about my big weight gain jumps the last couple weeks I started a 4 week cycle of Tren/TT-40 like 2.5 weeks ago which will be followed by 4 weeks of Tren/AH-89 all by American Cellular Labs. Since starting the cycle I’ve had some good weight gain jumps, from 203 to 207 and now from 207 to 210. I have my post cycle stuff all ready also, its nice having a friend who does this stuff for a living. Dietician / Supplements / Etc…

Man, I’d love a buddy like that.

Good shit man, keep on keepin’ on.
Hey Cam, keep in mind that I’m a Dietetics major…maybe be less of a twat and it will do you some good some day to be a friend of mine.

Amen to that, about the other song, I literally listened to it before every football game i ever started, from my sophomore year on, I still get chills every time i listen to the intro.

Works like a charm every time i climb under the bar.

Deadlift

warm ups
135 x8
225 x3
275 x2
315 x1
365 x1

work sets
375 x3
375 x3
375 x2
I went for the 3rd rep and just could not lock it out - FUCK!

Bent-over BB row
135 x10
155 x8
185 x5

Incline seated DB curl (alternating)
25’s x12
30’s x8
30’s x8

EZ-Bar curls
65 x10
75 x6
65 x8

I was pissed off after missing that last rep on deads, so I decided I was not done lifting yet. My lower back was on fire and my hands screaming while doing BB rows, so I just hit the biceps after that. Did all the curls to failure and keeping constant tension throughout the range of motion. Had to check the ego a little bit in doing this, but I definitely feel like I got good stimulation of the biceps.

FUCK! I’m still pretty pissed about the missed rep on deads. I think my shitty week last week hurt my progress a bit. Hopefully my body gets back on track this week with solid nutrition and solid rest. I’m not re-doing this workout next week, I’m moving forward to 2x2 @395.

hammer curls

20kgx10

Those DB rows and hammer curls look surprisingly light compared to your other lifts… Just a back-off thing/tired after the first two exercises?
I never really do either anymore too be honest, Only reason was cause there was no space too do bent-over rows - which i usually like doing in the squat rack and I haven’t done hammer curls in 12 months or so, I’m going too make them a priority.

Bicep exercises I’m usually pretty average at which is strange cause I feel like my biceps are the only decent thing on me.

BTW, 2 songs that fired me the Fuck up during my training today.

Trapt - Who’s going home with you tonight.

DoubleDrive - Imprint.

That is one of the best songs ever. I could literally listen to it for a while listing session.

I’m gunna have to download that one since I don’t think I’ve ever heard it.

Strange session today. Maybe the reduction of cals is affecting me a tad… I don’t know. Also, my normal lifting partner was not working out today.

Wednesday - Back

Rack chins (couldn’t really do these… no one to place the DB in my lap)

BW x 10
BW x 12
BW x 15

Lat pulldowns (really went to town on these… got a nice stretch at the top of each rep)

150lbs x 15
175lbs x 12
200lbs x 12 + 7 / 175lbs x 7

Rack deads + shrug(meh, wasn’t feeling it, 3 hrs of sleep was wearing on me)

315lbs x 10
405lbs x 10
515lbs x 6 (stopped early, couldn’t keep form tight)

Bent-over rows

225lbs x 8 warmup
245lbs x 12
275lbs x 10
315lbs x 8

DB Rows (the 150 was gone… and i was tired, so)

an ‘easy’ 140lbs x 20

Meh. Tired. Oh well, tomorrow is arms yay.

Dynamicish Lower Body Day

30’ Box Jumps
3x3

These were all fast and explosive.

45m dash

Tomorrow is military press day.

I’ll be seeing what my 1rm is, and will then start the 5/3/1 program Jim Wendler has.

DB Walking Lunges
45x5
45x5
45x5
45x5
45x5

Notes: Deadlifts were a little weird, at least up to the knees. My chest felt like it was going to rip off on the incline bench and the dips, it hurt like hell.

Had to belt up for the 315 and 355 sets on rack pulls, used straps when my double over hand grip gave out. I forgot what time I got to the gym, but I was there at least 1.5 hours. Chased 3g of vitamin C with a half gallon of milk, then died.

Bug where are you doing your rack chins? When I was still doing them I was able to do them without a partner, it wasn’t as easy but its definitely doable. I would just get my legs setup on the bench with my body in the right position for the bar and I would lay back and do a pullover with the dumbbell from behind my head and set it in my lap then grab the bar over my head and do my set. When done I would lay back down and take the dumbbell and set it behind my head again.

I actually used an EZcurl bar, but the method was done the same as I just described.

I Love eating for size.

Just finished off 3 cans of tuna, topped with shredded cheese and franks hot sauce, now its a brief break, and then its off to BW’s to watch the game and eat much more delicious protein.

Well change of plans, tomorrow I’am having people over to work on the remodeling of my house.

I had to move all of the stuff in my gym around so they could get to my attic, and instead of lifting tomorrow and being in the way, I just lifted tonight.

Military Press
55x5
75x5
95x1
115x1
140x1 PR
150xmiss
145xmiss
115x11 PR

Bent Rear Delt Raise
5’sx20
15’sx15
25’sx10
10’sx15

Lean Away Side Laterals (each arm)
5’sx15
15’sx10
10’sx15

DB Front Raise
10’sx15
15’sx12

So my military press sucks hard. I was hoping for at least 150, but looks like I have some work to do.
Off to eat some protein!

Week VIII

Workout #2
Deadlift 2x2x305
135x10
185x8
225x6
275x4
305x2,2

2 minutes rest between 305 lbs. work sets

Got home late tonight, made sure I at least got my deads in. Almost got me tonight. It was very heavy.

Today’s Chest

HS Incline:

6plates x9
6plates x8
6plates x7
6plates x7

HS Bench (I think the one at my gym is actually the wide-grip bench, but it says HS Bench on it):

6plates+25s x11
6plates+25s x10
6plates+25s x9
6plates+25s x7.5

Cable X-over (weight per side):

160x10
160x9
160x8
160x8

Pec-deck:

180x12
180x11
180x11
180x10

Notes: The Cable X-overs are starting to get dangerous in the area I have been doing them, going to have to do them on the adjustable cable area outside of the weight room. Having to try to bring 160 lbs in with just one arm is giving me elbow and shoulder issues. I think on the adjustable arm cable area I could start with the cables in a pressing position.

Other than that it was a great session and made excellent progress again. =)

I’m not Bug, but I’m going to go ahead and say he’s doing his RACK chins in a… wait for it… you know what’s coming… just a little longer… RACK!

Man am I funny.

Damn dude, I didn’t think about that! I was doing them in a squat rack (unoccupied, of course!) because it has a bar that is like the perfect height for my feet… I guess I could have done that but I use straps on my heavy sets (mainly because my calluses start hurting like motherfuckers if I don’t) and it would have been tough to strap up from that position. I’ll def. keep that in mind though for next time that happens.

And you are gaining weight too fast you monster. It must be all fat.

Sigh, I do mine in the smith machine usually - there’s more than one option of where to do them and just wondering what kind of room he has and how high his bench is setup and the bar is set…that would depend if he can figure a way to do them without a partner like I do.

Anyone ever tell you you’re quite a smartass for being such an old man?

Its some fat, but not enough to make me give up. =) I had been doing no cardio at all until this week, I’m working on adding in 10 minutes after every lifting session then I’ll slowly increase it. See if I can’t try to simultaneously build more mass and burn off some fat.
