Brotherhood of Iron 2.0

squats from today

[quote]hungry4more wrote:
Qaash it took 2 1/2 minutes or so. Extremely rough, but every single one was good depth, at LEAST 1-2 inches below parallel. That part of it made me proud of myself haha.

Nice work on those…I now know for sure I’ve been slacking on squats.

Today’s workout= Push session

BB incline press
135x12, 205x5, 225x3,3,3
Wide-grip BB bench press
185x8,8,7
Dips
BWx12, BW+40x8,8+BWx5…managed to get in a drop-set

Seated DB press
60²x10,10,9

Skull crusher
85x8,8,5…my left elbow started to feel very wrong so I stopped at five reps
DB kickback
30x10,10,10…these were done with little rest alternating between each arm.

The incline presses were very disappointing. I knew it would suck when 205 felt heavy. I’m going to have to double the effort on these.

Have a couple hours free this afternoon, why not go in and destroy some iron.

Basically did an Max Effort lower body, with some hamstrings, traps, abs, calves and forearms.

1.Box Squat - 12-14 inches
135x8
225x5
275x5
315x5
365x5
405x3

455x3 (3rd went up very slow this week, hit the side of the cage on the first rep, so it took some energy to get that under control)

475x2 PR (if i had a spot i would have gone for3)

Stiff Leg DL into High Pull -
135x12
155x10
155x10
155x10

Seated Calf raise - 4 plates - 5x10-12
supersetted with
Hanging Pikes - 5x8-10

Comments: Dammit those hanging pikes kill my abs and forearms, I did them from a wide grip lat pulldown bar that i chained to the top of the cable crossover tower, absolutely fried by the 3rd set.

Once i get the 500x3 on this box squat, i’ll shift my attention to kicking Dre’s ass in the dead lift competition.

Bring it b*tch. haha

Friday’s training session:

ME Bench - work up to a 5 rep max and then hit 5 sets
95 x 5
115 x 5
135 x 5
155 x 5
185 x 5
205 x 5
225 x 5
225 x 5
225 x 5
225 x 5
225 x 4 - would have had 5 had I had a spot

pullups
3,3,3,3,3 - god i’m shit at these

OHP
95 x 10
95 x 10
95 x 10

i think there was more but i can’t remember.

So who has been paying attention to what’s going on in T-Cell Alpha? Just about the whole Cell is people bitching about something. I can’t believe the drama over there.

I weighed in at 200 lb ( at 6’1’'), for the first time in my life.

Congrats man. The day I weigh 200 (or anything over 190) is the day I lose all continence and shit my pants. I can’t wait.

What happens when you put too many big egos in one place and no real definition of what that place is. It will right itself eventually. I believe that. Oddly for some reason this summer, people seem to be a little high strung. Not just in T-Nation but in real life as well…moody, quick to anger and just overall agitated all the time.

Yeah, I hear ya. I just find it odd that the threads that involve trolls and people bitching back and forth are drawing the most posts.

I’m trying to do my part by simply not posting on threads that revolve around the whining. I figure if everyone else will do that as well…we’ll be all good. There’s no drama if no-one makes it. If someone needs to be booted, tribunalize them. If not, stop whining.

At first I thought, “Oh cool, a place for the experienced, accomplished, knowledgeable guys to talk shop. Don’t have to sift through so much bullshit.” I honestly think it should have been for the “T-Nation elite”, i.e. the guys that have been training longest or are the strongest or the best, whatever. Yeah it’s kind of elitist but then you wouldn’t have so much the bullshit going on because the senior guys all seem to kind of respect each other.

Now, it’s like… “oh you are serious about training and you love the iron??? come to the T-Cell!!!” I mean shit, if you are registered on this site and you read stuff here regularly than you are more serious than 99% of people.

I’m not asking for an invite, but I don’t understand how certain people got in there in the first place, and here I am having added over 50 lbs and I know a thing or two and I’m relegated to the troll-infested BB forum.

With this thread though, it doesn’t seem so bad over here anymore. The trolls have moved to the T-Cell haha.

Hey guys got back from vacation this last friday, catching up on the thread…

1-wow some freaking number here(jb,hungry)

2-Is there a competition going on ??

3-T-Cell and some comments, well im not in,i dont post too much on internet forum,i read some but there just to many people bitching around, i dont wanna give name but there some people with freaking big ego right here…anyway i dont give a shit about them…try to avoid this sh…

4-About number 3,that why i like this thread, friendly, for fun ,advized and hope its stay the same!

So, didn’t have a lunch today, stopped at the grocery store and got 1/2 pound of turkey lunch meat, some deviled eggs and a green tea. I’m really going to try to focus my diet around the Poliquin if it doesn’t swim, fly, run or green, don’t eat it.

Since there must be balance in the universe, I balanced you out by eating a Baby Ruth bar, some fudge and a huge slice of homemade blueberry pie topped with a big scoop of vanilla bean ice cream yesterday afternoon (I love cheat days :D). I also ate a buffalo ribeye steak and a truckload of broccoli, but I’d be a big liar if I said that blueberry pie wasn’t the tastiest thing I’ve had in months.

To put all that crap to good use, I split some wood yesterday, and hit the gm this morning as follows:

Jump Rope 2x90 seconds

Inch Worm 2 x 10

DB Dorsiflexion 2 x 25 @ 20#

Standing calf raise 2 x 25 @ 150#

Split Squat 5 x 4 @ 40’s

Chin-up
4 x bw+10# x 2sets
4 x bw+15# x 3sets

Zercher Squat
4 x 135# x 2sets
4 x 155# x 3sets

Decline DB pullover
4 x 25’s x 5sets

Deadlift Walk
12 x 135
13 x 135

I’m getting closer to 15 reps on the deadlift walk. Should be able to get 2 x 15 next week.

I had some cold stone ice cream yesterday so, um, yeah.

Inch worm? I’m intrigued…

Cold Stone = teh debil!

Inch worm is:
From a standing position, bend at the waist until your hands touch the floor. Walk your hands out away from your feet as far as possible. The idea is to get your abs about 2-3 inches off the floor. All the way out and back is one rep. It’s a nice overall conditioning/warm-up move.

Alrighty, just finished a pull session, having trouble typing…

SLDL’s

175x5
215x3
265x2
305x9

Chinups:
bwx22

Kroc Rows:
130x12 each arm

Curl Machine:
100x10-2-1 (rest pause)
75x7
50x12
25xway too many and my arms are killing now

Too tired for thoughts…be back later.

Is that just 1 set of 22 chins? If so - very nice!

Can I bend my knees in order to get my hands on the floor? If not, forget it!

Ok, now I can think clearly. I was having to type a couple words at a time because my arms were in too much pain haha. So I added 10 lbs to SLDLs, and I could’ve gotten 1 more rep, but didn’t want form to get sloppy. Still 9 reps, which is the same reps but more weight than last time. All the other numbers were up a little bit too, I’m really loving Kroc rows more and more as I add weight. Wish I’d started doing them seriously 2 years ago.

dre that sounds like a good lunch. I’m cooking up some chicken to go with sausage, rice, salsa and cheese right now. Yum yum.

Lastly, I like BOI much more than the T-Cell at this point. Funny, considering any trolls could post in here, it’s moderated, etc, but it’s turned out so well.

Keep pushing guys.
