doing them on the smith sucks.

before that though i used to do them on the preacher curl. id just steal a BB from the bench and place it on there and stand on a 45. it was a little awkward but you get used to it. then the gym mgmt. was like uh, thats too noisy, this isnt a powerlifting gym and thats not what that (the preacher curl) is for so you have to stop because our assholes are sore from fucking each other and we’re very sensitive today.
That sucks man, I’ve had people come up to me and complain about being loud. But never anyone who works for the gym.

My Rack Pulls really weren’t very loud at all today though, except for when setting it down after the last rep. The reps during my sets were all very controlled negative, light touch and go.

I did some boxsquats today just to see how my knees were feeling. I managed to hit a fairly easy 310lbsx1 and it didn’t seem to affect my knees too much. Not bad considering I’ve barely even moved my quads for the last 5 month, let alone done any heavy squatting.

I should be able to have a full leg day pretty soon, maybe alternating light and heavy squats each week.

Also Live, if it is truely stalling and time to swap it out…don’t freak out. You can build a big, thick back without deadlifts I promise. I haven’t done a deadlift or rack pull in about 5-6 months and my back width/thickness is still definitely my best feature.

Try some Yates Rows, T-bar Rows (chest-supported or not), HS Rows, Kroc Rows (if you gym has DBs heavy enough, mine doesn’t), Rack Pull + Shrug, etc…

Edit: Also, aren’t you a fairly lean 200+ lbs? Have you considered bumping protein to 400g/day?

getting up to 400 would be hard. doesnt mean i cant do it, just gonna cost me more, but i got all this money laying around so might as well use it for something. im already taking 3 gainer shakes of 60Protein a day lol at LEAST but hey gotta do what you gotta do.

Well its just an idea to see if it helps you continue packing on strength/size. Try moving some of your macro nutrients around, swap some carbs throughout the day for protein instead. I seriously eat very very little carbs all day until pre/post workout.

all i hear anyone say is the faster your metabolism the more carbs you need to ingest. so i take in a ton of carbs, probaly doulbe my protein intake but i dont count so its hard to say, probaly highr than double.

3 weight gainer shakes a day? That’s a lot man. Can’t you just eat more whole foods and use whole milk?

im on my 4th sloppy joe right now and theres fries too. its not easy getting in 5-7,000 calories a day from sandwhiches and shit alone.

i got 1400 today just from 2 things of Hood egg nog at school. this girl in my class who did a figure show (4th/15 i think) was like oooo thats too much youre not a bodybuilder. im like yea, but i will be. and theyll name a contest after me lol.
shit dude, keep on eating! lol

Wide-grip Lat Pulldown:

270x9, 5, 3 (17 RP)

Yate Row:

365x8, 315x12

Rack Pull + Shrug:

495x6, 405x10

*Not bad considering I haven’t touched a Rack Pull in a LONG time and last time I did I could barely get 1 rep with 495 and it was very sloppy and probably unsafe lol.

Side Note: My XL Testosterone and Red Tribal shirts just got here today…hope they are big enough. I got sick of stretching the shit out of my Larges every time before wearing them. ;)
I have both of those shirts in an XL and they fit me just fine and dandy. I think you’ll be happy with them.

Went to the gym to kill my legs, had a less than stellar session. I’m not even going to post it. I was distracted, couldn’t find a groove or a zone. Meh, oh well.

You’re right, I wanted to make one…
Until then: Didn’t you mention before that you can’t keep the bar close to your body or something?

As much as I’d love to see some videos of C_C lifting…him posting a video of him doing Rack Pulls isn’t going to help any of us critique your form on how you do them.

But C_C I would love to see some videos of you lifting!

im sure what it is exactly, theres just something awkward about smith pulls because of the fixed plane of motion n all. usually ends up taxing my lower back a bit more than id like it too.

Me too…unlessssss he’s just a crazy good keyboard warrior and actually weighs in at like 125 lbs at 6 foot 1, so he wouldn’t want us to see his sad physique.

Ooohhh, sounds like a call-out to me! Haha.

If I don’t post here anymore, it’s probably because C_C got pissed, hunted me down and snapped me in half.

Can you imagine? It would be like the biggest troll job of all time!

Live - I can see how that might be, I personally don’t even like the idea of doing them in a smith. But lucky for me my gym has 2 squat cages and 1 squat rack. It may lack heavy enough weight stacks and heavy enough DBs (added this just for dre), but at least its got plenty of squat racks/cages!

Hear the the resident cardio-bunny talk :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Why would I lie about my height though? (going from a “real” 6’1 down to an “imaginary” 5’10 ?)

To be fair, I would likely end up turning you into a meal if I ever met you rather than just snap you in half…

But by the time we finally meet you’ll have cardio’ed yourself down to 62 lbs…

How many trolls teach you useful stuff?
You ungrateful bitch :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I read in another troll thread that I should carry 2 guns with me at all times. And pull into gas stations and pull them out on people.

Sorry C_C, your real smart and all, but thats street smarts.

I was thinking the same thing C_C. It wouldn’t be a troll job so much as a con job!

Dude that would be the whole point of the troll job. When you finally revealed your true identity you could be like “Omg, you all got schooled and took advice from a 128 lb. newb who has never touched a weigh in his life!”

Well, at least I could then call myself the only well-meaning troll we ever had on here.
Wouldn’t mind to have more of those around, actually.

(And I’d also have to be a rather strange individual to know what actually works for bodybuilding in intricate detail but not manage to bring my weight over 128 lbs. I don’t think that’s entirely possible. So cut me some slack guys, I’m probably more like 130. Or 4 feet tall. Or maybe I’m a kid in a wheelchair with at least one disease affecting metabolism/muscle growth.
But screw you, I’m gonna win the hamsterweight class at the next O…)
