Bringing Back Up to Par...

Okay I’ve been slacking. I got decent chest, tri’s, legs… must bring back and bi’s up to par. Specifically because I got a PFT to do in September.

What would be the best way to add strength doing pullups? I do deadlifts alot up to 405, but can only manage pullups with sets of 12,10,10, and 8. I realize this is a specific question but for the PFT I gotta do I need at least 25 consecutive. My main problem is that I’ve bulked up (mostly being lazy) but have since got my ass back on track.

What would be a good interval to train to maximize back development short term? Any help appreciated.

Wow, way to wait until the last minute. Do they have to be strict pull-ups, or is kipping allowed?

Nope, no kipping, strict chin over the bar, no jerking… not that I haven’t been training, just put on a little extra weight. I’m in relatively good shape and just need something to kickstart my back again.

honestly best bet keep training and lose fat and in a hurry. get lighter and preserve as much strenght as you can and the reps will go up fast.

there are two type of people who are really good at pullups:

  1. Skinny bastards

  2. people who do pullups often

so my advice would be try and drop some weight and do alot of pullups. Don’t worry about back and biceps just worry about pullups.
