I just finished my second week of Bring on the Pain Upper and Lower Body workouts and I feel exhausted BIG time? Not so much with upper body but the lower body is dead ass tired. I don’t know if I am starting with too much weight in warm up sets or what but I feel weaker not stronger. I did raise my weights after the first week but I was dying at about the 3/4 part of the workout. Anyone else doing the 2 workouts at the same time ( I mean in the same week of course). I am doing the Hypertrophy workouts if that makes any difference.
The upper and lower body programs are designed to go together, so that’s not likely the problem. Have you done the original limping/super strength programs? I think IK recommends completing those before moving on to Bring On The Pain. Also, it’s probably best not to go all out until the final week of each stage. Sounds like you might be hitting it a little too hard during the first 2 weeks. Periodize intensity within each stage.
I haven’t done the limping series, but I have done the 12 weeks to great guns, and the chest and back series. As for legs probably the most grueling thing was the GVT.
As for nutrition and stats, etc… I am 6’2" 235 lbs at 10% BF. I eat between 3500 - 4500 cals per day, 300 - 400 g of protein per day in chicken, fish, and lean red meat. Post workout shake is a Myoplex Plus with 4 frozen strawberries, a banana, 10 -12 small chunks of pineapple, 12 oz of fat free milk, 6 oz of water, 5 grams of creatine, and a cup of ice.
Supps include Tribex 500, ZMA, Androsol, and MD-6.
