Looking to get some cheap breifs more for hip support than actual carryover, Track season is coming up and instead of switching to a close stance I’d like to keep squatting wide. Im not pushing anything extreme right now after just having a month to get back into wide squats (close to about 315 to a parrallell box), But i think if i can manage to keep my hips in decent condition this track season ill be looking at getting some decent numbers with actually keeping a consistant squat stance. Also any help with sizing would be appreciated.
inzer power pants are good for support w/o much carryover (maybe like 30lbs). i have a double ply pair and i can easy squat to depth w/ no weight. i used the sizing guide they have on their site and mine fit well.

How much do they run and do you have the website? I know I’ve Seen 20$ pair of Briefs on the Titan Site, don’t know if those are complete trash but i really dont want to drop seriou scash on these right now.
here’s the 3 briefs on the inzer site. out of those i like the powerpants because they sit higher on the waist making it easier to use with a belt. as far as titan briefs, I’ve never used them. maybe someone else can shed some light
Any of the cheap briefs work. I like Crain’s. Almost no carryover, feels like thick spandex.
thanks guys the power pants are less than i thought probably going with those
You will like the power paints. I use a pair of the single ply ones often and really do feel they help keep everything warm and tracking right. I do notice I seem more confident squatting in them, but I don’t know if I get any real carryover from them.
Mine have a hole in the crotch. Just thought you should know…
I’ve never used any type of gear before, other than a belt so I’m curious as to how briefs manage to protect your hips while still allowing your hips to essentially do the work… Sore hips seems like a very common complaint, mine are screaming after deadlift sessions.
Could anyone elaborate?

They keep your hips warm, while not constricting enough to sacrifice ROM, etc. This only really applies to 1 ply, cheaper briefs. My Metal ACE doubly ply keep my hips warm while making it hard as hell to get into position.
Does IPF allow briefs in competition? If not, would it still be beneficial to wear them during training before I put my suit on?
no. IPF is just a suit. There is no need to buy briefs, you can just wear your suit straps down.

They take the load in the bottom. Ive found that really working hard on flexibility and hip mobility has taken a TON of stress off of my hips. Outside of last week, when i went back to the wide stance, I rarely, if ever have an issue with sore hips, and I am rarely in my gear.
