I was just wondering if there were any federations anybody knew of that allowed briefs in raw only competitions? Or is raw always singlet + belt only?
belt and wraps only. It might still be a good idea to get some single ply power pants from inzer. minimal carryover, but helps heal injuries
I am pretty sure no PL Fed that is raw allows briefs. Singlet, some allow knee wraps, some allow wrist wraps, and I think all allow a belt.
Anyone know any feds where I can wear a single ply bench shirt as raw?
No. But here’s a practical approach I have known a few guys to do- enter in equipped and don’t wear a suit- just wear briefs and wraps. Will you be at a disadvantage against the full gear guys in suits? Yeah, but so what? The same goes for the the raw classes and knee wraps. Some guys lift “equipped”, but they are just wearign knee wraps.

This is exactly what i am going to do for my march meet. I am entering equipped, but only wearing breifs, knee wraps for squat, and elbow sleeves and wraps for bench. Im thinking metal pro breifs or predators.

This is a great post.
Because we compete geared we almost always have lifters do their first meet in knee wraps. We then progress from there. Depending on strength levels, etc. we may do the first 2-3 meets like that until they start to show an ability to perform well in a meet.
If you really want to compete RAW and post a total that is aknowledged by the RAW guys, you need to lift under the template of RAW Unity, in my opinion. No knee wraps. Belt, wrist wraps, knee sleeves. In the current climate you really can’t claim a legit total otherwise.
If you have briefs or knee wraps, you lift equipped.
Even though, from my perspective as a guy who has always competed in gear, lifting in a belt and wraps is RAW. However, this is not what the masses have decided on.
You basically have to decide how you want to be measured. If you want to compete in briefs only, then work it and start chasing PR totals.
As long as you are getting stronger meet to meet, who cares?

exactly. I think I will have a pretty damn good time competing Semi-Equipped. I dont have to totally worry about my gear being on right, and I can still wear some gear. I should make an Unsanctioned meet: Breifs and wraps only!

Only took me 4 years to get the groove right so I could touch, I was so happy when I got that 11 pound carryover!
