What’s it like? Any annoying things you’ve found there? Is it busy? How many squat racks? The more info, the better!
Sue them for false advertising.
They’ve got at least one squat rack, I’ve emailed them asking numerous questions just as I did with planet fitness, will fill in the details when I get them but it looks much better than PF. B.bodies has at least 2 squat racks, plenty of free weights…that’s topped PF already, and that’s really all I need ![]()

Looks pretty hardcore. I say go for it.
Lynne Brick is bigger than her husband.
I’d nail the daughter.
Dumbbells probably only go to 15.
And are pink.

15s are magenta.
I loved the foam rubber brick toss at the end. Convinced me.

No grunting.
I wonder if they refer to the bathroom the Brick shithouse.

Interestingly, Victor Brick owns Planet Fitness Maryland.
(I know this because I helped open a two health clubs (one male, one female) primarily for Hasidic Jewish people in Brooklyn and PF was strangely interested in the concept of male- and female-only gyms, and was introduced to him in passing. He’s as annoying as he looks.)

Victor Brick sounds like a tough comic book character. He doesn’t really look the part though. LOL.
“Brick Bodies in Reistertown” sounds like a great 80s action movie.
I accidentally came across your topic, while reading articles (on this site, I read article and nothing else).
I live several minutes away from Bricks Body in Reisterstown, located in the building that used to be SuperFresh supermarket.
Gym is fairly big, and as far as I can tell, judging by the packed parking lot, it kind of busy. Have no idea as how it is equipped, but I bet as any other gym.
You have a lot of options:
- Gold’s gym (I think it is in Owings Mills)
- JJC(Jewish Community Center) on Reisterstown has excellent gym with very good eqp + one in Pikesville
- University of Maryland Baltimore County, Retreivers Center(Baltimore) has fairly big facility (two gyms actually) and it is open for memberships for anyone who wants to join in.
- Stevenson University has brand new gym, not sure if you can join in, but I am sure as most college gyms, you can signup.
- There is gym right by the B&N(one of the med building facing B&N) friend of mine told me that is very good as well. It was build not long ago.
- Planet Fitness in Reisterstown, mile a way from Bricks Body(Everyone is bashing Planet Fitness, have no idea why)
- Finally, if you want to crush in my place, I have Squat Rack made from Steel channels with Lat Pull down (I am straight, without any inclinations for bright colors), don’t have a lot of plates, only std Olym set.

Limited to travel via bicycle (moving to MD next month from the UK) so most options are out. I’ve started a thread regarding Planet Fitness and have also contacted them, they’re out of the question. Couldn’t findd JJC through google, could you provide a link? Ditto to the gym by B&N (don’t know what B&N stands for). If they’re not located within Reisterstown then I wouldn’t bother linking either. Cheers for the offer for your place but I think I’ll pass ![]()

Of course you would. ;-)[/quote]
Hey, I’m still being good. One girl, almost all of the time. Met her parents, even.
That was terribly awkward, but a metter for another thread.

http://www.jcc.org/ (don’t have to be any ethnicity to join), has a superb facility.
B&N stands for Barnes & Nobles, it is bookstore.
Not sure where you will be located within Reisterstown(By the way Reisterstown is only small town. On other hand, Reisterstown Rd. is very long), but once you are here, visit all the gyms gyms and see for yourself which one you like.
Another thing to keep in mind, is that many apartment complexes(I am assuming you will be living in one of them, and there are plenty of them around) have small gyms. You can hardly call them gyms, but they are within a walking distance (expect to see commercial grade home gym type multifunctional trainers). If there is some kind of cable machine, buy yourself some attachments, you will be one happy camper !!!
Craigslist will be your best bet for cheap sports eqp.
Hope it helps.

Cheers for all the help. Brick Bodies is still the closest by a number of miles, so I’m going to favour that as I’ll be on a bike. Thanks again for all the help though!
