Brick Bodies in Reisterstown/Baltimore?

Judging by commercials alone, if I had to pick Planet Fitness or Brick Bodies… I might consider giving up training altogether.

PF= dumbbells only up to 60lbs. No squat or power rack. Not allowed to bring in your own dipping belt, etc.

BB= dumbbells= ??? currently unknown. At least 1 power/squat rack. Other info unknown. Yeah, the commercial makes it look goofy, I guess they’re trying to appeal to that kind of crowd, seeing as people who want to go in and just squat etc won’t need weird ass commercials to entice them.

Brick bodies update (received an email from them)

-2 power racks.
-DB’s from 1-125lbs.
-bike rack outside so I can cycle there
-much bigger than the local P.fitness
-no chalk (not an issue as I’ll do my grip work at home, there’s enough space to store a few plates and such forth

Are you allowed to deadlift? Will it be a problem if you make some noise? Otherwise, it sounds good. I just know some places might let you squat, but won’t let you DL.

For me, the optimism of both their commercials is a bit off-putting. It just feels like an adult version of America’s “you’re awesome even if you suck!” mentality; one that’s especially prevalent in our public education system. Personally, I’m more motivated by being told I suck, and then having to work to earn some respect. But that’s me.

Hopefully they’re a good fit for you. Good luck.
