Foot rubs FTW. ![]()
Hey people. Thanks for all the help!
So, I’ve basically had 5 days off at this point. I also stabbed myself in the palm with a nail on Wednesday. FML.
I’ve been doing some BW exercises in the mean time.
Re: my foot, the bruise is fading fast. It does hurt a bit when I tighten my shoelaces. The pain in my right quad is gone, but activated when I bend my right toe - for example if I squat bulgarian on my left ass…then my right quad freezes up hard. Until I get my toe back I cant split squat on my weak side, so no squatting until toe is heeled. ARGH! I’ve been trying to go easy on it. Didn’t do anything physical this weekend aside from carry 40kg of groceries and shit on my back a few km. I always get a few nods of approval and a few wtf looks at the store when they see me loading up my hiking pack in the foyer. I dont need a car!!! I have my bicycle and a backpack! You’re the lazy sucker who has to pay for your 1) gym membership, 2) car payment 3) gasoline, etc.
Here’s an example of what I’ve been up to and what I did today. Sometimes I throw 10 or 15 pounds on my waist but today I didnt.
Glute Circuit X 4 (barefoot)
stretch quads 10 x leg x 1
sky humps x 50 x 1
one legged sky humps keeping hips nice and even and toe pointed - x 10 x 3
fire hydrants with added kick out at the end x 20 x 1/leg
piriformis stretch 5s x leg x 2
the plank x 1min
bw regular squat x 20 x 1- this is good for me anyway. Chin up, elbows forward, going deep, back on the heels. Starting to actually feel like an almost natural movement for me. I’m much stronger with shoes, but this is a huge improvement from how I started. (smith machine…dont hate)
pushup circuit x 4
I am trying to build up my wrist strength. I think they’re getting better.
6 x bw x 1
4 x bw x 1
3 x knuckles x 1
I love them because before I could do none, so doing 52 in a circuit, I feel happy.
abs… they are definitley poppin out a bit.
100 oblique abs right side
100 oblique abs left side
100 reg crunches…
- 100 depending on whats playing.
If anyone has any other body weight exercises not involving the right toe, lemme know.

But uh, you have some pros in your corner, so I’ll provide the emotional support
<3[/quote]
I just finished this body weight shit…looked at your new avi, and got inspired(jealous) to go to the gym and do some shrugs and whatever else I can find that doesn’t hurt. See your hardwork inspires people all the way across the ocean. ![]()
If you have a Smith Machine (it’s good for something!) or a power rack, or hell, a railing, you can do body rows. No weight on the toe at all for that.
Bridges also build a lot of wrist strength. They can be brutal.

Dear Mr. Beast,
Every time you say stuff…stuff happens.
Just saying.
I’m ready to start with the heavy bag whenever you are.
Nice ad hoc training! Liquor is the devil - just remember that.
Foot rubs are nice…mm…
Bridge is a backbend, full wheel (yoga), etc.
Dear, dear Ms. Struction,
There is a reason why I say the things I do. You should have a good idea why. Be patient with the stand-up training, as there are some things you shall need prior to banging away. I have them, so you will have them. I will make a bridge video for you, so you shall see. Any other requests, feel free to ask. Training-wise, that is. Again, please be patient, as there are only 53 days left until I leave this place and return to the land of hefeweizen, brats, and Bre.
Thank you. Have a nice day.
Sincerely,
Beast (aka C.B.)
OOOOO. THAT bridge… I do those! thanks guys.
Today started out bad. I got pissed off over a something stupid, and was so mentally distracted I actually flipped over the handle bars on my bike on way to work. Then I got mad again and punched a tree. Something I will never do again. THEN I opted for Plan B which was to solicit hugs from everyone I know who gives a shit. This turned out to work the best.
The day ended well, because I am very pleased with my workout, and I dont even care about skyhumping at my gym anymore. Go ahead stare! I’m activating my goddamn glute! Just dont TALK to me!
Barefoot Warm Up:
One legged sky humps 10 x 3 x leg
warm up squat BW x 10
sky humps x 20 with 10kg on my hips. YEAH! STARE!
stretch the groin and the piriformis and the quads
split squat x 10 x BW X 1 / leg
reg squat x 10 x BW x 1
right leg got a little whiney. So I shut it up by putting my shoes back in. This helps A LOT. I still dont consider myself 100% because I wouldnt be able to do this shit barefoot.
split squat x bar x 10/leg x 3
reg squat x bar x 10 x 1
split squat x 22,5kg x 10 x leg x 3
reg squat x 22,5kg x 10 x 1
reg squat x 32,5kg x 10 x 1
reg squat x 42,5kg x 5 x 3 - quads were like holla! we’ll help!
reg squat x 52,5kg x 3 x 3
Now, 52,5kg, this felt easy here, but I can feel that my right leg isn’t pulling it’s weight. So I’m gonna keep doing glute circuits and one split quats and one legged squats until it starts effing cooperating like a good leg should.
Shrugs
bar x 20 x 1
32,5kg x 20 x 3
42,5kg x 15 x 3
abs + headstands + attempt at handstands… but this was stupid to attempt after all those shrug reps, so I just fell over a few times and called it a day.
Q & A***
Anyone have a favorite pair of lifting gloves to recommend? Mine totally suck!

yes: chalk.
and cause I give a damn {{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
Glad to hear you are determined to continue to w/the glute circuits, etc. to get your leg power balanced. It is something that I’m working on too.
I’m personally not a fan of lifting gloves either.
Have a better, safer day tomorrow Bre. Take it easy on the inanimate objects, you know. Good call on opting for Plan B. Hugs always help.

I’ve got a pretty big hug waiting for you, Bre. That and chalk. And if it makes you feel better, you can beat on me to your heart’s content. Just sayin… And you wonder why I’m hesitant about riding a bike. ![]()
I think I should start activating my glutes more. They’re fat and lazy, even if the rest of me looks OK.
Good job on the workout despite the foot problem. I always find handstands a challenge if I’m fatigued (well, I can’t do a full handstand yet, just against the wall, but you know what I mean).
OMG ALL THESE INTERNET HUGS!!! THANKS!!! ![]()
chalk x3
internet hugs from me, too.

Not necessarily for noobs. If you are concerned about your grip strength and such, then chalk. If keeping your hands “pretty” is more of a concern, then gloves. Personally, I like to FEEL the iron in my hands. And don’t go where I know you are going right now with this. You know what I meant. ![]()
